London Day 1 – Two John Morton Events with Special Guest John-Roger

4 at 640

Two London events in one day on September 12—Introduction to the Christ workshop facilitated by John Morton and Leigh Taylor-Young, and Q&A with John Morton. John-Roger was there, but has lost quite a bit of weight since last year. As we all have. 100% weight loss—what a concept. He seems to enjoy coming to the beginning of events to set a tone, and prepare the space.

His energy blows in very strongly in the beginning, as we’re arriving and setting up, and then the initiates/ministers/lightbearers arrive, and their Light has a different flavor in different countries. (You can feel it when they start coming into the room, as in a processional following J-R, or one of those parades at the beginning of the Olympics.) In England it’s imperial, majestic, and humble at the same time. Big egos, but used positively with a strong service-consciousness. The local people who help us set up are so cooperative and unruffled. It’s like they’re still ruling the world, but from within now that the outer empire has faded away. They’ve been everywhere and done it all, and now they’re like contented, retired gardeners in some heavenly realm for souls that have passed on. A lot like J-R: When the weight is lost, you’re nimbler, humbler and more flexible.

We’re in the “Grand Connaught Rooms”—an old building with quiet, comfortable wood-paneled rooms that groups can rent out for meetings, with high ceilings and enormous windows with stained-glass insets, that create a church-like effect and beautiful light for photos. There’s a Masonic group meeting next door. There are cookies and small cakes and water and tea set out in the hall. And they seem to have been made and put there by a real human person, and you can’t smell the money in them like you usually do in the States. They don’t smell like somebody has calculated exactly how much they would cost or how much could be saved by shorting a certain ingredient. Amazing. I’m in Europe.

John jump-starts the workshop by having everyone touch each other, and everything changes, patterns get interrupted, and the room is washed with conversation and laughter. Was that in the script? Probably not. (“The light gets in through the cracks.” —Leonard Cohen.) Then John calms down the basic selves and we continue, but in a lighter state. I heard J-R say that John will be a great peacemaker, and that to me is the hallmark of his events—peaceful. There’s a calm in the air that the Spirit rides in on.

And it’s great to be back again, riding this wave of Light into different parts of the world. I think that each year I get better at handling it. I’m more relaxed and able to enjoy it more, and stay more conscious, rather than getting thrown around by it. It’s a gradual process, but I seem to accomplish more, with more ease, because I’m listening better, and creating less friction. This year seems to be a bigger jump, though, because I’ve lost so much weight. Somehow I lost interest in “food” after J-R died, so I’m more detached, and he’s more present inside so nothing really matters. It can shift to depression if I look for him where he used to be, so I have to be more vigilant about where I look, and being in London without him here physically is bittersweet. It makes no sense, to feel full and empty at the same time, and to miss someone who’s present. But what else in MSIA has ever made sense?

Although I may be more efficient at dealing with this energy, I still lose interest in outer world details, so that’s as much about the workshops as I can remember. The words were very far away. There was a lot of talking, mostly about God.
