Healing Through Music

I recently took an IHOP class where sound therapist Alexandre Tannous shared his way of healing through music. He used a variety of brass bowls and a giant Gong as a modes to heal in this way. As I sat and listened I became aware of the way I have healed myself through sound.

I started meditating using the method of chanting my sacred inner tones, after this I began to play music and do my art in a way I had never known I was capable of. When I started meditate I would unconsciously tap into my own creative energy which would lead me to creating in a style my consciousness and heart resonated too with little outside influence. I picked up my cello after not playing it for years and started singing and playing. The feedback I would get from others was that my music sounded ancient and from other cultures and specific regions of the world but I wasn’t sure why or how because I was just playing what felt joyful within me as modes to heal from my own challenges and painful past experiences to find the blessing in it.

In class what I learned was that our western culture wasn’t as developed in seeing music as a way of healing oneself or experiencing and doing music as a joyful expression of love and transcendence or connection with God as much as some other more developed cultures. Alexandre spoke of these other cultures being as he had traveled the world.

He also spoke of epigenetics and what I learned was how people can use sound to tap into their their genes and ancestry even past lives unconsciously through their music or art to deeply heal in ways they couldn’t reach before. I realized I was innately doing this through my music and didn’t know it all I had to was chant my tone. It’s as though a higher part of me knew and was doing the work through me, through my creative energy to innately heal myself through the beauty of sound.

All I merely had to do was use meditation through the sound current to bring me to the ways I knew in myself to heal. It was great to have physical confirmation of my experience and put words on it.

It is natural for the Soul to incarnate onto the physical plane to gain experience, but it is the action of karma–the creation and the releasing of karma– that perpetuates the action of reembodiment. Many people have lived hundreds of lives on Earth and are still attempting to gain an understanding of karma so they can release themselves from the cycle of incarnation, realize the freedom of their Soul, transcend this realm, and know the higher realms. Through the teachings of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness, you can end the incarnation cycle.

The ancient words Baruch Bashan mean “the blessings already are.” It is the statement that all the blessings which will ever be present exist here and now, and all you do is move into the realization of those blessings. The frequency of these Hebraic words inherently convey the blessings to your consciousness.

John-Roger, DSS  (Divine Essence [Baraka], p. 23)

Dear Lord, we call upon Your strength once again, that we may hold it to overcome whatever challenges we face, that we may know the trust that will hold until we have fulfilled what is to be done by Your will.

This opens the door into the glory that is God and what we seek in our consciousness as the Divine that is always with us.

A seed is flourishing within us, that we may come to know heaven on earth and that when we pass from this world, we will be a testament that God’s will for us is done.
