You Reached Out To Me

Dear Beloved John,

I didn’t get to share with you on your birthday and I feel like now is as good a time as any as my heart leads.

The journey I have been on since last seeing you in London in September has been disturbing and moving and shake, rattle and rolling!

There have been two strong images that have come forward for me as guidance in the storm.

And these words poured out of me by way of reflection of this particular aspect of my journey:

It’s raging,
It’s so loud
The waters crash
And shout.
I feel vulnerable,
Anger,
Tossed and turned, so
Shaken & Stirred.

A lone figure
Is the last thing
I expect to see
But, as it moves closer,
I have to admit it’s there,
I cannot believe that’s it’s true
Yet I cannot deny that it’s You.
What I see with my eyes is the truth.

The white horses
Have gone
The thunder changes their manes
The cracks in the sky
Throw out
A warrior’s cry and
The Light breaks
Like a torch shone into
Mine eyes.

You walk as if
You command
A symphony of peace
A symphony that demands
It is heard.
Yet the instruments are You
Carried in upon Your breath
Carried within
Your steadfastness
And obedient to Your strength.

You walk the tempest
Out of and Into Love
Just yesterday
And way back then.

The moment matters not when it is
How great the wave or distance is.

Now, let mine hand reach into His
And let His gaze
Upon me
Silence a thousand years
Of the noise
Of disbelief.

You hold so still.

And now I am sure of the door
Upon which I knock!

My inner turmoil
The mirror of the tumultuous seas
And, just as it was,
As raging as they,
You walked towards me.
You held so still.

You reached out to me…
