John-Roger begins this delightful seminar in this way, “Most people who are on the path of consciousness awareness usually find themselves in a couple of areas in which they are constantly dealing. One is about seeking for the perfect master who can do everything for them, and the other one is to get rid of their suffering that they have perpetrated upon themselves.
And so they go guru searching.”
In his humorous way, J-R tells stories of visiting Sai Baba’s ashram, and about the seekers he’s met over the years with various search intentions, such as the ones who want to know about their past lives, or what the future will bring. To the latter query, J-R offers this, “There is no future for you, because there’s nothing present on this level, because nothing is going on. We think things are going on.
Do you know it isn’t?”
“All that is here,” J-R says, “is absolutely entirely the presence of love. That’s the only thing that is present here.” In this seminar, J-R encourages us to stop searching for just the right guru, because, he says, “You are the guru.”
