Doubt: the inner voice that creeps in and questions what you thought you knew, so that you can't trust others and you can't trust your own thoughts…or your teacher…or that your being is made in God's image…or even that there is God.
In this intriguing and subtle seminar, John-Roger points to the shadow of ego that judges itself, and its experiences. He says, "When you think about it, all you come up with is 'I doubt that I am.'
He doesn't leave us there, though. Of this thinking process, he observes, "This is not where certainty is located. It's located past the veil of confusion and right behind that veil, past the subconscious, resides the Soul. The you that is God — the pure essence. Not the ego that would like to feel it's God or think it's God or have somebody tell it it's God. That part can never exist beyond the process of this life. It will eventually die with the body."
