John-Roger begins this seminar by offering it as a “fireside chat,” rather than a classical type seminar “where I take everybody out on limbs and shake ’em.” Anyone who’s ever experienced J-R “shaking the limb” knows the loving he brings to the task of pointing to opportunities for growth. One of those opportunities is his theme for this event: the attitude with which we live our lives.
One example J-R addresses is that of worry. People worry about not having enough or that they’re going to die, or be left alone. J-R says, “Where truly does God supply everything to us?” And he answers, “In the NOW — in this moment, truly, truly, everything is supplied. God doesn’t supply in the future.”
He continues, “God only supplies in the NOW. Do you understand this? And if God is delivering everything in the NOW — and believe me, that is really true — what concern do you have whether you live or die? ‘But I don’t want to die.’ Do you understand that if you are going to die now, you are going to die now, whether you are worried about it or whether you are not worried about it.”
