“Often we find ourselves entering into these games of life,” John-Roger says at the beginning of this seminar, “without enough preparation for what the game is and how we are going about it. So, let’s look at this process as the outer game and the inner game, because the inner game is really interesting: It is what you think other people should be doing in relationship to you. And the outer game is how we’re messing it up.”

J-R always uses stories and examples from his own life to help us understand what he’s talking about. In this seminar, he cites his experience of thinking he was supposed to teach a friend how to play golf. “My inner Game was pretty good,” he says. “My outer game wasn’t so hot.” So J-R played the game of pretending he was a better golfer than he really was. “You see,” J-R continues, “if you’re playing any game — and this is all a game — you must evaluate what’s going on. That’s the inner game. And be careful you don’t judge what’s going on.” Got that? It’s a key to playing life’s game.

This seminar contains other keys as well, like stopping to breathe a minute, and detaching from what your emotions want. “…And let your mind stop,” J-R says. ” ‘What! let my mind stop? Hopefully, yes. ‘How do you do that?’ By not placing it out there in pretension of objects. Place it back in here and fulfill it into your own fulfillment. Moment to moment, breathe in breathe out. Then the mind will quiet. You just have to resurrect yourself to your own spiritual Light and let that flow.”
