SUMMARY:Christ Is Now: Seeing Through the Eyes of Love
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\n\nI don’t relate to Jesus on the cross.  That would be foolish.  Worshipping Jesus on the cross is a backward process. That’s like relating to your life 20 years ago\, when you are no longer doing what you did then.  To me\, people who hang Jesus on the cross and worship him in that form don’t know what’s going on\, because he got off the cross\, resurrected\, and walked among his people. \nSo that has to be your process.  And I don’t think you even need a cross to remind you of what happened.  You don’t have to hold yourself in the past in that way.  You can let it go and move to what is present now\, which is that the Christ is present\, living in your heart and in your consciousness. John-Roger\, DSS \nWhy This Course? \nFollowing the words of the great Christian mystic Meister Eckhart\, “God is at home. It’s we who have gone out for a walk\,” we invite you to come home to Christ in the present moment through our transformative 9-week class\, “Christ Is Now: Seeing Through the Eyes of Love.” \nOn Monday evenings\, 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm PT\, we’ll explore the profound wisdom of the mystics who discovered Christ’s living presence in everyday life—not as a historical figure or future promise\, but as the eternal Now experienced through love’s gaze. \nThroughout this workshop\, you’ll learn practical\, contemplative practices from remarkable sages. Their timeless teachings will help you recognize divine presence in both ordinary moments and in life’s challenges. Julian of Norwich beautifully expresses the essence of this class when she says\, “The fullness of joy is to behold God in everything.” \nWhat You’ll Learn: \nIn our current world of distraction\, disruption\, and destruction\, this class offers a sacred pause—a chance to develop eyes that see differently. Eyes that perceive Christ’s presence shimmering through all reality\, transforming how we experience relationships\, work\, nature\, and life’s inevitable challenges. \nThe Sacred Pause represents a deliberate interruption and a conscious stepping out of the pressures and rush of everyday life to enter the eternal Now where Christ’s presence dwells. In our class\, this pause becomes both practice and pathway to experiencing divine love in the present moment. \nThe sacred pause is an invitation to momentarily set aside all our doing in favor of being. Brother Lawrence described it as “the time of business does not differ from the time of prayer\,” suggesting that when we pause even briefly within our activities\, we can experience the same Christ-presence we might find in formal meditation. This pause isn’t about adding another task to our day but rather transforming our relationship with every moment. \nThese pauses aren’t escapes from reality but rather gateways into a deeper reality where Christ’s love permeates everything. We will discover how these intentional moments of presence gradually transform perception. A perception that reveals Christ’s face in the eyes of strangers\, in moments of both joy and difficulty\, and in the simple\, overlooked aspects of daily life that will suddenly shine with sacred significance. When we see through the eyes of love\, Christ is encountered not as memory or hope\, but as the ever-present Now illuminating all of life. \nNo prior mystical experience is required to attend—just bring an open heart and a willingness to explore. DESCRIPTION:Peace Awareness: A Way of Tea\, is an intimate two-hour tea gathering where you will be guided to a place of inner calm\, allowing your heart to open as you connect with space\, silence\, stillness and breath. Limited to six people you will be served three different types of special artisanal teas (plus a healthy sweet treat). The teas will be prepared and served in a way that is consistent with the culture from which they originate. \nThe alchemy of a tea gathering has a mystical ability to bring us to places of beauty within our being. Beauty softens our hearts and we become more attentive to the voice of our true Self. The word beauty and the word beatify\, to bless\, share the same origin. We will be creating space for the blessings that already are to enter and manifest in our lives. \nThe tea gathering is both a time of quiet contemplation and a time to chat and share. It is said that when people gather for tea\, good things happen. So please join us to experience pronoia where the world around you conspires to do you good. \nWe will also be offering a choice of organic flower tisanes – a healthy and delicious alternative to those who wish to limit their caffeine. \nYour tea master for this event will be Paul Kaye\, who has spent many years studying the benefits of tea\, meditation\, tai chi and qigong\, and sound healing. In the remote mountains of Northern Vietnam\, there are pristine and untouched forests of Shan Tuyet tea trees that have been growing wild for hundreds of years. You may say that some of these trees are the ancestors of modern tea. \nEvery moment aware teas are harvested and processed by the indigenous Red Dzao community\, who have been living alongside these wild tea trees for generations. Every step\, from picking to packaging\, is done by hand by a dedicated family cooperative\, ensuring the highest quality and attention to detail. The tea is produced in small batches\, maintaining a personal touch with every harvest. \nIt is extremely rare to be able to enjoy tea that has such a direct route from the tree to you – only passing through loving hands that have a deep connection with the plant. \nCourtnay Robbins is a tea ceremony facilitator as well as a RYT500 certified yoga instructor. She is accredited by the Kyoto Urasenke Tea Association and is the creator of every moment aware – a tea ritual experience and ethically sourced tea brand.
