Meditation for Loving Yourself
This deeply relaxing meditation begins with John-Roger’s soothing voice, “Find a comfortable position, and close your eyelids. First we ask that which is for the highest good of each person to come forward. Now slowly take a deep breath in, and let it out. Take another deep breath in and this time, as you slowly let the air out, let go of any worries or concerns of the day that might be in your mind, or in your emotions….” Perhaps you’re feeling more relaxed already.
As he continues his guidance, J-R leads us through a process of sending loving appreciation to various parts of the body, using visualization to promote deeper relaxation of the mind. In the last part of the meditation, J-R uses affirmations –positive phrases — to assist in shifting the way we talk to ourselves. One of them is, “I give myself total unconditional acceptance of myself as a unique and worthy individual.” Isn’t that something you’d like to hear yourself saying?
