In a satellite broadcast to the world, John-Roger delivered his 1999 Christmas Eve message. “You know,” he says, “I’m always perplexed that we decide to choose one day of the year, called Christmas, to be nice to people. If you put happiness into the Christmas experience, happiness will be returned to you.”
Of course, J-R’s not saying that Aunt Ruth is going to be nicer to you than usual. He’s saying, you’ll be giving yourself the gift of inner happiness.
