Of course, in the midst of joy, J-R does get serious for a moment or two. “Now you’ve got to watch this mental talk,” he says, “because it will bring you trouble. It’s an amazing phenomenon: we think it; we repeat it in our minds; therefore, we think it’s true. And it’s not.”
J-R goes on to speak of liberation. “Don’t censor your existence,” he cautions. “If you really get free, and you come into this form of liberation, it’s amazing how you will be able to do what you want to do. And you will not violate your own manners. You’ll violate everybody else’s, because they are being nice in order not to upset each other so that somebody will like them for the false things that they do. You may as well do the good things that you want to do, have fun, laugh, and really have a good time.”
