This John-Roger seminar is for each of us who believes the negativity other people throw at us. It’s for we who say to ourselves something like, “If they only knew me, they’d know I’m a phony.” It’s even for the folks who let you know they’re the expert and you’re not. J-R says this, “There’s a real fine line here between a faith extension and a phony front based on ego.” A faith extension is like an affirmation, a claiming of some condition before I actually have it. A phony front based on ego…well, you’ve seen that before.
J-R spells out the many forms both conditions take so we can recognize them and learn to handle them. Here’s his suggestion. “Start to stand on the success of your learning and growing. Once you stand on that, you don’t have to tell somebody you’re good or you’re bad, or you’re mean or you’re strong. As they come with you or against you or for you, they’ll find out the value you have to give, because all of us have value to give.”
