Porto, Portugal
Today is the walking tour through Porto, Portugal. We begin with a short bus ride to be dropped off in the city and begin with a visit to the Palácio da Bolsa do Porto which is the current Porto Commercial Association and is mainly used for major events such as official receptions. The predominant style of the palace is the British Neoclassical and Palladian style. The most noteworthy room is the Arab Room and is designed very reminiscently of a 1001 Arab Nights atmosphere. The room is used today for music concerts.
Next is the Porto Cathedral (Sé do Porto) which is a Roman Catholic church located in the historical center of the city of Porto. It is one of the city’s oldest and Romanesque monuments. On the outside is a raised stone platform, now serving as a monument, and used at a time of the inquisition. We visit inside the Cathedral for a sharing from John to bless this area.
More to come, time to jump on the bus for our next adventure.
We spend the afternoon setting up for sharing with John. The hotel is exquisite and setting up in this venue is relaxing and inviting. John takes sharing with the group and as we drift off into spirit. Our next destination is a lovely group dinner across the hall and then on to bed.
Love and Light, Julie
