There are places on Windermere Ranch<\/a> where it\u2019s really quiet. Really quiet. Silent. You start to hear your breathing. A sense of awe sets in and you think, \u201cMan, I\u2019m in a special place.\u201d<\/p>\n

Down below the Garden House there\u2019s a small valley filled with boulders that just sit in their silence. And yet, they\u2019re very much alive. They emanate a soft nurturing energy and you just want to hug them. It\u2019s really nice. They have no control issues. No sense of urgency. Don\u2019t need to go anywhere. They\u2019re just right where they want to be. And maybe that\u2019s where their healing quality comes from. You can count on them. You can\u2019t reach in and grab an In-N-Out burger, but somehow they feed you on another level. Their heart is always open and you can tell them anything without fear of judgment or retaliation or breach in confidentiality. Facebook with utmost integrity. When the air is cool and the sun is out you can find yourself a kind of flat spot and just lie back and take in the blue sky with some stirrings of cirrus clouds sitting in their own silence. Beneath you, the rock just is. And in that \u2018isness\u2019 the real silence immerses you and for a moment frozen in time all your senses come together in the top of the pyramid and you can\u2019t help but think, “Can this be legal? Can I stay here for a long time?” And if I can hold with that silence for a bit, a sweeping sense of joy envelops me and my own loving shows up.<\/p>\n

And then the real magic sets in. The realization that I can take this experience with me. I can retreat to this silence wherever I go. And if need be, I can be the rock. I can be of assistance without control or urgency. I can be that person people can come to and count on. And even more importantly I can be that rock for myself. I can have a place inside me that has no judgments or urgency. That just is.<\/p>\n

So, thank you once again Windermere. Your heart beats steady and true. And the welcome mat is always out. I can come and sit. Or I can come and work. Either way, the silence that is the rock accompanies me and whatever blessings I bring forward are reflected back tenfold. A true sense of tithing for me.<\/p>\n
