What started out as a few children, by the end of the day, grew into a full house of guests.

Class started with calling in the Light. A small lesson on the meaning of Christmas Symbols followed. It was explained that the ever green tree is present to represent us. The pine tree continues to stay green and fresh throughout the winter’s snows. It reminds us that we are a Soul that never dies. The lights on the tree tell us that we are God’s Light. The lights remind us to keep our love “Shining Bright with All Our Might.” Then the symbol of the ornaments was revealed. It was explained that they are the kind acts of loving we decorate our lives with so we become very beautiful just like the lovely Christmas tree. Finally, the children were enlightened with the true meaning of Santa. He is a symbol of unconditional loving. He gives and never expects anything in return, and he always includes everyone.

The best part of the day was next. John came forward to give each child a blessing. He pointed out that blessings are good things we get, and he encouraged each child to think of something they wanted. John said he would give the blessings on a “10” count down. Enthusiastically, the children counted to 10 and received a blessing.

Next, John had each child come forward to speak into the microphone an idea of a kind act they could do as an ornament they could decorate themselves with. Children lined up, came forward and spoke a loving act. After sharing, John then presented each one personally with a blessed angel pin with a red heart jewel. Having some left over, John let big kids also get into the action. Many wonderful ideas about practical acts of loving came forward from parents who also received a blessed pin from John. Several “I am a Wisdom Keeper” necklaces were given to children who had not received them at the book signing. When presenting the necklace to them, John encouraged the child to make wise choices since that is what a Wisdom Keeper does.

Following John’s wonderful sharing, the children went into the dining area to roll beeswax candles. They brought them back with them to the Christmas tree room where they were lit while singing “This Great Light of Mine,” “I Am the Light,” and “I Am a Wisdom Keeper” led by Matt Van Fossun with his guitar.

Following this, the children and parents worked together making craft gifts. Children painted toy chests, geckoes, cars, turtle banks, toy Christmas soldiers, and ceramic ornaments. Snowmen bracelets were beaded, and wooden boats were built.

After much fun being creative, the children moved back around the Christmas tree for Christmas Caroling. Matt’s vibrant voice lead a great group of songs like “Rudolph” and “Silent Night.” Even Matt’s sight dog seemed to be enjoying the selections.

Suddenly bells were heard. Santa had landed on the roof of Prana and was coming down the stairs unexpectedly. Great cheers and much excitement burst out as Santa was welcomed. AfterSanta sat down in a big chair, fit for a Santa, he gave some solid advice, passed out toys and led everyone in “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”

Delicious potluck desserts filled happy tummies while parents enjoyed tea, coffee and sweets.

John-Roger must have smiled on our beautiful young Wisdom Keepers as they were caring, sharing, and loving in the joy of the wisdom of the heart.

Sweet smiles, giggles, and children telling Christmas jokes around the Christmas tree settled our precious Wisdom Keepers before they called in the Light for Christmas Class at Prana.
