My earliest memory was when my mother Myrtle Reed started going to MSIA meetings in the valley about 1969-70. I believe it was Wednesday night and she was raving about this guy, saying how great it was.<\/p>\n

At that time, I must have been about nine years old. Then I asked her if I could go and she said, “Sure. I think kids can go.” So we went. We all sat in chairs in a row. What happened was that each person had to stand up and say their name, then say who brought them there or why they were there. I was getting nervous because I could see that I was going to have to stand up and say my name. J-R was sitting in a chair at the front of the room and so I stood up and said my name. I said that my mom brought me there and then after that, I sat back down. Then I felt a sensation. It felt like the kind of cold chills over the whole body and my mom said, “That’s the Light.”<\/p>\n

Then at the end of the meeting, as I waited in line with my mom, I got to ask J-R a question. The question I asked was, “How could I be better at school?” J-R looked at me and he said, “Well first off, you’re a very old Soul and you are going to be fine. You don’t need to worry about it, you’re going to make it.” Back then I thought he was talking about school, but years later I realized he wasn’t referring to school.<\/p>\n

Then we started going every week, so I would say I went back maybe five or six more times if not more than that, and each time J-R would tell me to sit up near him on the couch. It was like a couch next to the chair and he was super nice. He was always smiling and a very nice person. I always felt really good to be around him.<\/p>\n

10 years later in 1983, I went to the Mind Body Spirit Festival in San Francisco and J-R did a talk there. My brother came with me and he had never met or seen J-R before. He had only heard and seen That Which Is on cable television. So at the end of the seminar, we went up to J-R and said hello to him. He shook my hand and then he shook my brother Steve’s hand. I felt completely re-energized and a sensation in my chest. The next day my brother said he felt strange and quit smoking. He also quit eating meat and became a vegetarian. It’s amazing.<\/p>\n

Then in 1990, I became a minister. I started seeing J-R a lot, but all by coincidences. Like when we went to the movies, he would be sitting behind me. That happened two or three times. Once I went to a restaurant and he was sitting across from me. Then when I was driving on the 405 freeway, I’d look over and he’s driving next to me.<\/p>\n

You know how they always say, do not contact J-R at the end of the seminar, if he wants to talk to you, he’ll come to you. Well, all those years it never happened until finally in San Francisco at a book signing. He came up to me and he just said, “I want you to know, you need to take care of yourself. Be careful and I love you.” Right after that I went through a lot of changes in my life, so he was totally aware of what I was going through.<\/p>\n
