I have found that my everyday life—the quotidian rhythm of 365 days a year— is a fractal expression of what comes out of this training. When I hear a particular song on the radio, I imagine how beautiful or fun, as the case may be, it would be to hear the song played in a cuddle. Particular John-Roger seminars that I hear throughout my daily practice inspire me to imagine that I am facing the Pacific Ocean on the Monterey peninsula hearing the seminar played through my headphones as I breathe in the beautiful ocean air and hear seabirds.

The noise of my mind and the generation of images, feelings, states of mind from the unconscious as they float through my awareness on a particular day remind me of the opportunity to simply let these things go into the Light in a stream of consciousness, as I have practiced so many times in this retreat setting.

The reference points of the beautiful, heartfelt connections with process partners allow me to have an opening for similar connection with the people I encounter in my day. The gorgeous nature of the Monterey peninsula invites me into a similar state of appreciation for the chickadee perched on the branch of a tree as I walk through the woods, the heave-to of a giant tree that has fallen in the storm, the moss growing over centuries on a rock, the Virginia bluebell with its brilliant blue and psychedelic green.

It’s a reference point. Here I am walking on a path. I am walking in Grace here. I am drinking in a brilliant sunset from the rocking chair on my porch. I am living in the grace of the sunrise. Here I am tapping into vibrations that evoke my soul as I do my spiritual exercises. I am living in the grace of this moment when all souls are connected, whether in our morning spiritual exercises in a seminar or in this moment, when I appear to be by myself. The sunrise over the ocean in my place in Florida is as delicious as the sunrise peeking through the Monterey Pines as I walk in the early morning light.

Each PTS Living in Grace training has potentially 15 to 20 hours of sharing with the Traveler. I am living in Grace when I hear an excerpt or seminar that is clipped from one of these trainings that I attended in person, soundbites show up regularly, and are part of how I integrate living in grace into a daily practice.

John-Roger invites us to approach life as “minimizing the downtime.” There’s a playful state I often find myself experiencing in a Living in Grace training. When I am in my daily life, whether I am walking backwards on a path, balancing on the top of a curb for my walk, attending a Laughter Yoga class with my friends, sharing common experience in a Zoom sharing or finding a belly laugh moment with my wife, I am reminded of the freedom that comes from play and laughter.

I experience this playful state frequently in my daily living in grace bubble.

For more information or to register for the upcoming Living In Grace Retreat, click here.

There is a weeklong retreat known as Living in Grace.
