{"id":112104,"date":"2024-10-01T17:54:06","date_gmt":"2024-10-02T00:54:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.msia.org\/newdayherald\/?p=112104"},"modified":"2024-10-01T18:09:49","modified_gmt":"2024-10-02T01:09:49","slug":"living-the-path-to-mastership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.msia.org\/newdayherald\/archives\/112104-living-the-path-to-mastership","title":{"rendered":"Living the Path to Mastership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>&#8220;Whatever is going on in your life, you are in touch with the path to mastership and with the consciousness of God.&#8221; <\/em>&#8211; John Morton<\/p>\n<p><strong>This article comes from John\u2019s sharing at a Path to Mastership workshop held in September 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the path to mastership, one of the traits is simple \u2013 a willingness to do what it takes.\u00a0 A lot of that is enduring.\u00a0 I experience the traits as having a kind of order.\u00a0 These traits are keys to the Mystical Traveler Consciousness.\u00a0 All of the traits connect to mastership and the path to God.<\/p>\n<p>Then, is it really a path?\u00a0 Consider it\u2019s a living truth, always present no matter the condition.\u00a0 Whatever is going on in your life, you are in touch with the path to mastership and with the consciousness of God.<\/p>\n<p>There is this aspect we call the Mystical Traveler, which we also call the Inner Master.\u00a0 It\u2019s present in everyone.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t need to be recognized or acknowledged.\u00a0 It just is because it\u2019s transcendent in all of its qualities.\u00a0 They are always present, and practically leading to the best in our life.\u00a0 If we develop ourselves in these traits, we are fully developing in our life purpose.<\/p>\n<p>All traits are important.\u00a0 Maybe there is a particular trait that is most useful to you in the moment.\u00a0 I find myself processing the path to mastership in two primary ways.\u00a0 Is it truthful? Is it loving?\u00a0 I need both.\u00a0 If I declare, \u201cThis is truthful,\u201d I also need to check, \u201cIs it loving?\u201d\u00a0 If I say, \u201cI just love this,\u201d is that truthful?\u00a0 Make sure it\u2019s truthful.<\/p>\n<p>Just as the Kingdom is within, these qualities are within every person.\u00a0 We do not need verification outside ourself.\u00a0 We might get a beautiful reflection that what is inside is being magnificently reflected outside.\u00a0 But we also may get a lousy reflection from what is outside.\u00a0 A reflection that denies your truth, denies your love.\u00a0 It\u2019s like, \u201cYou don\u2019t really love me.\u00a0 If you loved me, you would do what I want.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That sounds like ego to me.\u00a0 The loving may transcend what I want, and the truth may transcend what I want.\u00a0 If it\u2019s between what you want or the truth and love, I would go with truth and love,<\/p>\n<p>Another trait may come in \u2013 sacrifice.\u00a0 I may have to sacrifice what I want to be in my truth and love.\u00a0 Is that easy?\u00a0 I hope so.\u00a0 Sometimes it takes discipline. Discipline is to let go of what I want so I can be in what is truthful that is all around.\u00a0 Truth-full, full of truth.<\/p>\n<p>My experience is there is a truth that knows the truth, no matter what.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t need a witness.\u00a0 It is independent of anybody\u2019s point of view.\u00a0 Truth is first.\u00a0 Sacrifice is next.\u00a0 I sacrifice what is not the truth.\u00a0 How many of us would do that?\u00a0 Stop living a lie, pretending or saying one thing and doing another.\u00a0 It starts to reduce who is in play.\u00a0 Who is willing to sacrifice to be on the path to mastership?<\/p>\n<p>What is next?\u00a0 Faith.\u00a0 What is that about?\u00a0 Maybe that\u2019s about, \u201cI\u2019m not sure about the truth.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know what the truth is.\u201d\u00a0 Consider there is a truth that transcends what you think.\u00a0 Do you have a willingness to go with that truth?\u00a0 Maybe just have faith that you will check it out.\u00a0 You will act as if it\u2019s true and find out what happens.\u00a0 We can do that by faith.<\/p>\n<p>There is a truth that you naturally know.\u00a0 Call it intuition, faith or your trust.\u00a0 Are you willing to put your body in alignment with that?\u00a0 Act as if you are loving and do what loving would do?\u00a0 If some part of you says, \u201cI can\u2019t love that,\u201d consider that is a lie. You can love that.\u00a0 Maybe the truth is you don\u2019t want to love it.\u00a0 If that is the truth, you can say that.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s say you can\u2019t say that love is unconditional.\u00a0 You can\u2019t say you can love anything.\u00a0 That is a supreme love.\u00a0 God\u2019s love is unconditional, always loving in all ways.\u00a0 Unloving does not really exist.\u00a0 Only loving is true and always true.\u00a0 You can deny it, saying \u201cI don\u2019t believe that.\u201d\u00a0 But that is your opinion.<\/p>\n<p>Consider what triumphs.\u00a0 Consider what is present the moment the day is done.\u00a0 There is a loving presence that is always with us.\u00a0 What is temporary is hatred.\u00a0 It\u2019s not going to last.\u00a0 Hatred comes and it must go.\u00a0 It must stop.\u00a0 It exhausts itself and doesn\u2019t have the strength to pick up the weapon, pull the trigger or do the deed.\u00a0 Something stops it.<\/p>\n<p>One of the great teachings from John-Roger is the \u201ccessation of againstness\u201d.\u00a0 Peace is the cessation of againstness.\u00a0 The Bible talks about a peace that surpasses understanding.\u00a0 We do not need to understand it.\u00a0 It is peaceful even if it makes no sense whatsoever.\u00a0 Even where there may be pain, suffering and agony, there is still a peace that surpasses understanding.\u00a0 There is peace, glory and beauty present.\u00a0 These are on the path to mastership.<\/p>\n<p>Our creativity, what we do with our lives, comes with what we look at and where\u00a0we place our faith and our trust. New creativity is always coming present.<\/p>\n<p>The next trait is intelligence.\u00a0 I look at intelligence also as wisdom.\u00a0 It is the ability to see the best choice within all the circumstances and make that choice.\u00a0 There is the intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>In the teachings, it\u2019s simple \u2013 do what is right.\u00a0 Does that mean somebody is wrong?\u00a0 That is not the kind of \u201cright\u201d I\u2019m talking about.\u00a0 It means the best choice.\u00a0 Maybe there is a dilemma like, \u201cI don\u2019t see any best choice.\u00a0 They\u2019re all bad.\u201d\u00a0 What is the least bad?\u00a0 Consider that is the best choice.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes the best choice is no choice.\u00a0 Be careful with \u201cno choice\u201d\u00a0because life is going to make choices for us.\u00a0 It\u2019s called default.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t want to make a choice, one will be made for you.\u00a0 My experience with that kind of choice is often that anything would have been better than doing nothing.\u00a0 As long as the attitude is, \u201cI\u2019m going to do what is best. I want to make it better,\u201d that is intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>Next in the line of traits \u2013 will.\u00a0 There is a personal will.\u00a0 Let\u2019s call that choice.\u00a0 I like to reserve God\u2019s will for God.\u00a0 What do you do with your ability and power?\u00a0 We could call that our personal will to make a difference.\u00a0 What do you want to create?\u00a0 What results do you want to have?\u00a0 That is where will can come in as devotion.<\/p>\n<p>What is your commitment?\u00a0 It\u2019s one thing to say what our commitment is.\u00a0 It is another thing to do it, demonstrating our life is on the line.\u00a0 Did we have the will to keep going, creating what we want to create?\u00a0 Even if it doesn\u2019t go our way, we have the will to keep going.<\/p>\n<p>Let me offer this to you \u2013 you can act in God\u2019s will.\u00a0 That is powerful.\u00a0 There is a saying, \u201cIf God be for you, who can be against you?\u201d\u00a0 My God is with me.\u00a0 With armies on the battlefield, it\u2019s not uncommon for both sides to claim God on their side.\u00a0 Let\u2019s consider that is true.\u00a0 God loves everyone.\u00a0 God is on both sides.\u00a0 Who is going to triumph?\u00a0 Consider that is in God\u2019s will.<\/p>\n<p>In the Muslim faith, they have a word,\u00a0<em>Inshallah<\/em>.\u00a0 In there is\u00a0<em>Allah<\/em>, the word for God, the God of the soul.\u00a0\u00a0<em>Inshallah<\/em>\u00a0means the will of God is going to prevail.\u00a0 If I say, \u201cLet\u2019s have lunch tomorrow at noon,\u00a0<em>Inshallah,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>it means if God wills it.\u00a0 I\u2019m covering my bases.\u00a0 I do not want to do what God does not will.\u00a0 It will happen if God wills it.<\/p>\n<p>I look at God\u2019s will as having a lot of range in it, but with freedom for our choice.\u00a0 We all have an abundance of choice, even if it doesn\u2019t appear abundant outwardly.\u00a0 Inwardly, we are free to decide how we want to think or feel about it.\u00a0 That is our choice.<\/p>\n<p>After devotion comes discipline.\u00a0 I look at discipline as another word for following.\u00a0 There is a way to mastership.\u00a0 That includes what we are doing inside, how we focus.\u00a0 What is our attitude?\u00a0 If we think about something, energy is following.\u00a0 Our creativity has energy in it.\u00a0 Be careful what you think, especially the kinds of thoughts you hold true.\u00a0 Check out your beliefs, faith and trust, because energy is going to follow.\u00a0 There is a natural law that where we look, energy goes into that.<\/p>\n<p>The first look is in the inner mind.\u00a0 Do you see yourself being successful, kind and loving?\u00a0 Do you see your life that way with others and with whatever circumstances are involved?\u00a0 We all came packaged with imagination.\u00a0 Our mind has the ability to present an image. There is freedom in what we can imagine.<\/p>\n<p>We can imagine whatever we want to.\u00a0 Be careful what you imagine.\u00a0 John-Roger reminded us to always win in our fantasies.\u00a0 We make up our fantasies.\u00a0 It\u2019s our choice.\u00a0 Let\u2019s make it up so we win.\u00a0 What if it doesn\u2019t turn out that way?\u00a0 We don\u2019t win in the way we imagined.\u00a0<em>Inshallah.<\/em>\u00a0 God\u2019s will.<\/p>\n<p>Trust that whatever happens is in God\u2019s will.\u00a0 That\u2019s how powerful God\u2019s will is.\u00a0 If it is allowed, it\u2019s in God\u2019s will.\u00a0 That is who God is.\u00a0 If it\u2019s not in God\u2019s will, it is not going to happen.\u00a0 That is powerful.<\/p>\n<p>Our freedom of choice has great range.\u00a0 On the path of mastership, we are always learning from whatever takes place.\u00a0 That\u2019s good.\u00a0 Some of the great questions are, \u201cWhat am I learning from this?\u00a0 What is this circumstance teaching me?\u00a0 Who is this person as my teacher? What lesson are they bringing me I need to learn?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Consider this thing we call karma, the law that is in God\u2019s will.\u00a0 What you sow you must reap.\u00a0 What you put out comes back to you.\u00a0 What goes around, comes around.\u00a0 It means you are a responsible creator.<\/p>\n<p>Have the discipline to go with what creates what you want to create.\u00a0 If your life is not working for you and what you want to create is not happening, consider you are being disciplined.\u00a0 You are being taught, having the experiences you need for your learning and growth.<\/p>\n<p>You are a living \u201cmaster-in-training\u201d.\u00a0 You have a thing or two to learn.\u00a0 That is my life.\u00a0 I am still a student.\u00a0 That\u2019s primary.\u00a0 Are you a teacher?\u00a0 My life is a teaching, and life is a message.\u00a0 I am not the first to say that.\u00a0 Everyone has that teaching in their life.<\/p>\n<p>What we do speaks loudly.\u00a0 What we choose comes back to us.\u00a0 Choose wisely.\u00a0 Choose with discipline and ask yourself, \u201cIs this what I want to create?\u201d John-Roger said, \u201cIf you want to be happy, do happy things.\u201d\u00a0 If you want to be joyful, do joyful things.\u00a0 Peaceful?\u00a0 Do peaceful.\u00a0 Could it be that simple?\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 There\u2019s the law.<\/p>\n<p>We are going to learn according to what we are responsible to as creators.\u00a0\u00a0 We can go to the master class and play at the highest level.\u00a0 That takes great willingness.\u00a0 I prefer the word \u201cwillingness\u201d versus personal will.\u00a0 Are you willing?\u00a0 Are you going to give your best effort? Don\u2019t profess one thing and do another.\u00a0 Be true to your word, and if you are not, change your word.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps you say, \u201cWhen I said it, I meant it.\u201d\u00a0 Then, maybe you learned a thing or two.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t true then and it\u2019s not true now.\u00a0 You needed to learn, and that is what you\u2019re going to do.\u00a0 That becomes a discipline.\u00a0 More importantly, you find out if it is in your heart as a living truth.\u00a0 Let\u2019s call that a dream, a vision, an image of what you can become.<\/p>\n<p>If it\u2019s in your heart as a living truth, it is what you can become.\u00a0 Maybe it takes your mastership to make it manifest.\u00a0 Maybe it\u2019s God\u2019s will being done.\u00a0 You are going to become what that is regardless of what you do.\u00a0 It\u2019s your destiny and life purpose.<\/p>\n<p>With God, our life purpose is divine.\u00a0 That is what I see.\u00a0 It\u2019s complete and total.\u00a0 We are all living masters.\u00a0 Maybe we just haven\u2019t found out yet.\u00a0 We are in our process.<\/p>\n<p>Service comes after discipline.\u00a0 Our life becomes one of service, the highest consciousness that manifests into this world.\u00a0 It must be a loving consciousness.\u00a0 You may ask, \u201cHow can I love you as a consciousness of service?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If I am going to love you, I need to have loving.\u00a0 I love myself to give you the loving.\u00a0 If you can get to a place where you can\u2019t tell if it\u2019s my loving or your loving, consider that it is God\u2019s loving.\u00a0 God loves all of Its creation, and not in any incomplete way.\u00a0 We are all fully loved.\u00a0 When we share that divine love, it doesn\u2019t matter where it\u2019s directed.\u00a0 It\u2019s like the sun, radiating in every direction.\u00a0 It radiates to all.\u00a0 It is also called the Light.<\/p>\n<p>The path to mastership is the path of love and light.\u00a0 It is a beautiful vibration.\u00a0 The key that moves us into mastership is loving it all.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t hold back for anything or anyone.\u00a0 That is the greatest love.<\/p>\n<p>Can you sustain it?\u00a0 Consider a moment where you love everyone and everything.\u00a0 Have you had a moment like that?\u00a0 When I\u2019ve asked that question in groups, the majority of hands go up saying, \u201cYes, I\u2019ve had that experience in just one moment.\u201d\u00a0 They are saying, \u201cI loved everyone and everything, even the worst of it.\u201d\u00a0 That is mastership.\u00a0 It transcends whatever is going on.<\/p>\n<p>Baruch Bashan<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h4>Blessing of the Living Master<\/h4>\n<p>Dear Lord, we are in Your embrace, all of us together.<br \/>\nYour embrace is complete and full with loving for all,<br \/>\nincluding all the conditions, all the people, and all that is needed.<br \/>\nWe give thanks that we have the opportunity to be in our path of mastership,<br \/>\nto be conscious and willing toward the truth.<br \/>\nSo we let go. We sacrifice as needed.<br \/>\nWe come into the truth that is the whole truth, nothing but the truth.<br \/>\nWe find our faith.<br \/>\nWe find our trust in the highest good of all concerned.<br \/>\nWe find the way is prepared in creativity.<br \/>\nWe find we know the way in a conscious awareness.<br \/>\nWe are blessed with Your intelligence and wisdom.<br \/>\nOur will and our willingness become Your will being done.<br \/>\nOur commitment is our devotion to be one and truthful to Your will being done.<br \/>\nWe have all that is needed.<br \/>\nSo we will follow in Your way.<br \/>\nWe will exercise this discipline.<br \/>\nIn this way we are of service to You and to all that is serving<br \/>\nthis will being done.<br \/>\nWe are the consciousness of the Beloved.<br \/>\nLoving for all in all ways.<br \/>\nWe become aware that there is an anointing that comes from the Holy Spirit.
