Down and up.<\/p>\n
That was the drive.<\/p>\n
I did that for twenty-six years.<\/p>\n
At some point, I did the math.<\/p>\n
Even traveling much of the year, those drives added up to tens of thousands of miles.<\/p>\n
All on that same road.<\/p>\n
When you look at it another way, it comes out to about three times around the Earth.<\/p>\n
I drove the Traveler around the Earth three times.<\/p>\n
Down and up.<\/p>\n
Same canyon. Not forgetting driving to Windermere and back. <\/p>\n
But while all of that was happening, nothing was standing still.<\/p>\n
John-Roger was born September 24, 1934.
\nHe left October 22, 2014.<\/p>\n
During that time, the Earth moved around the Sun.
\nThe Sun moved through the Milky Way.<\/p>\n
Over those eighty years, this planet traveled over three hundred billion miles through space.<\/p>\n
So while I was driving him down and up one canyon, there was a Mystical Traveler and Preceptor on the planet moving through the galaxy.<\/p>\n
And while all of that was happening, I was learning.<\/p>\n
Learning how to keep the front wheels between the yellow lines on those winding canyon roads late at night.<\/p>\n
Learning the right speed going up and down the curves.<\/p>\n
Too fast and you drift.
\nToo slow and you lose the flow of the road.<\/p>\n
There were reflectors along the canyon.
\nYou learned not to hit them.<\/p>\n
Especially while he was meditating in the car.<\/p>\n
You learned how to hold the drive steady.<\/p>\n
Smooth.
\nAware.
\nPresent.<\/p>\n
And after a while, you realize\u2026<\/p>\n
