My heart was more than ready to be immersed in the glorious energy of J-R, John and every bit of the Conference. But, as usual, it seemed God had a different plan. That Wednesday at noon (Caracas time), I enjoyed watching the DSS Graduation and right after, I decided to go for some groceries before joining the online assisting team for the next events.

I came back around 6:00 pm and four minutes later, a double earthquake hit. In a lapse of one minute and a half, two earthquakes hit back-to-back. The first one was a 7.3, the second one, just 39 seconds later, was a 7.5. That brief moment was like holding eternity in a single breath; I didn’t run, I could hear a roar from the earth and the shattering of glasses and shouts from neighbors. My legs did their best to keep me stable between the swinging movement of the walls and the floors deciding if they would go up or down. A brief moment of a loud roar, and all I could think of was chanting the HU within. Clear, loud.

Evacuating the building took some time: Eight floors down and I helped two neighbors who were in shock and were having trouble with orientation and what to do. The HU kept resonating within me, as if God was grabbing my hand; my phone had no signal, so I couldn’t check on my close family.

When the earth calmed down and people were gathered on the streets, I knew it had been a major earthquake. What’s next? In those moments, the idea of next is somehow a blur… but J-R is always the best guidance, and I could hear his voice within telling me: Next is God. Always God. Even if I couldn’t understand what that would be, I decided to trust.

It as a long night outdoors, checking on family, aftershocks, and then an indescribable sense of gratitude: People supporting each other, caring for each other, strangers who were familiar just because they were lending a hand or sharing some coffee prepared rudimentarily. Patience, calm and caring seemed to be good skills for what was present. I checked on our local MSIA Community. We are all OK; some of us have damages at home: broken walls, broken windows… some will need major repair, and one of our ministers has her house marked for demolition.

In spite of all the tragedy, we witness the best part of HU-manity:

• A granny was rescued and the first thing she asked for was a Coca-Cola to say cheers for life.

• A 10-year-old kid who was rescued after spending three days under collapsed walls, and his rescuer was a young man with long hair and a hairband on his forehead. The kid, Marcos, said that “Jesus” saved him. He was convinced that young man was Jesus.

• A mother protected her three kids under all the rubble and fed them with breast milk; all of them were rescued 7 days later. Alive!

• An eight-month-old baby survived after a week.

• A woman gave birth among debris, and she and her baby are doing well.

The HU-man…the God in each one of us prevails in spite of the circumstances.

Still, the toll of victims is over 3,000 and above 10,000 injured. We have no clear information about how many are missing. The area of La Guaira, 30 – 40 minutes away from Caracas, was severely damaged with many buildings collapsing. I don’t know if I am an incurable optimist, or maybe I’m in denial, but the other side of destruction is renewal or rebirth. I wanted to know what J-R or John could share about earthquakes, and again gratitude filled my heart when I found this:

Question: Regarding earthquakes, what is the flow of energy that is released? What do earthquakes have to do with the Christ Consciousness and the return of the Christ?

John-Roger: Well first of all the Christ never left. And secondly, every time we have an earthquake it changes your consciousness. But the major earthquakes that are shifting the planetary flow are ushering back in great spiritual powers that are already present on the planet.

There is still a lot going on in my country; and of course, there is a mix of sadness, pain, loss, and shock but there is also hope, strength, love, generosity, bravery, courage, and God… and if an earthquake changes my consciousness perhaps this has been then a Godquake! And in a Godquake, I surrender to God’s guidance while I’m still on this earth – grateful for my family, my MSIA family, for J-R and John, and the precious gift that is being alive. I am opening my heart to more of God. Perhaps a Godquake is a great shake of consciousness so we can really embrace our own divinity and be one with God. That’s a great awakening!

Andreina Garban in Venezuela, July 2026

The Conference of the Divine Silence began on June 24.
