So instead of judging yourself, start to take responsibility for the cause of your dis-ease.

Most of your diseases come out of your emotions. What you do with the emotions is how you take charge of your life. What the emotions do to you is how you let life take charge of you. No one wants to be a victim. Intolerance is when you can find something wrong with what someone does, no matter how they do it. If you experience the cause of intolerance, you might ask yourself: “Whom, or what, do you make wrong?” and notice the judgments that come present. The cure for intolerance is tolerance, where you find out what someone is going through, what it is they are experiencing, and be present and patient with them. Using this cure, you may look at how you can be more accepting of yourself, others, or a situation. As you do this, notice the effect this has on your body, mind, and emotions.

As you go through the causes of disease, look at each one as though that is the only thing that you have in your life. See if there is a place inside you that responds to that word and allow it to come forward so that you can see and know what it feels like. As you look at the cure, get the essence of the cure and as an inner process, put it on the associated cause and allow it to be transmuted into the cure. It may assist you to do this with a symbolic hand gesture of placing one palm on top of the other. Some of you reading this are going to do it instantly. For some of you who think that you have an incurable illness, it may take longer.

The workings of the body are enormously complex, and if you are not a scientist or a doctor, they can seem rather overwhelming. However, everything is energy. So from an energetic standpoint, you can deal much more effectively and practically with the body by realizing that, as energy beings, you are either expanding or contracting. There is a healthy element to this in terms of growth, but also an unhealthy element when you become stuck in your contraction.

That stuck-ness is where disease enters.

There’s some very good news in all of this. You can, through being aware of where you are stuck, choose to expand and thereby regain your health and vitality. Inherent within the disease is the cure. You may have heard that the cure for the sting of the stinging nettle, the dock leaf, is always growing close by. But what is little known is that the antidote is within the stem of the stinging nettle itself. This latter point is the metaphor you are after, for while you can go outside of yourself for a “cure”, the true cure is found inside each of you.

The cure is always found spiritually. On the way to spiritual healing, you may need to see medical doctors or some qualified person trained in the psychological approach. If you are able to get to the essence of what is presented here, you’ll be able to have a greater understanding of what has bothered you in your life and how you can change it.

This is not about demanding that others change. In the past, you may have empowered other people to have control over your life, given the responsibility for your live over to a spouse, doctors, educational institutions, various government offices, etc. In fact, you may empower anyone who you think has more know-how than you do. The truth is all responsibility for your life comes back to you

Sometimes it may not be wise to be in such a hurry to get a cure. Sometimes it can be best to sit with the dis-ease, see what it is and see what your responsibility is in creating it. If you take a pill and your symptoms go away, that doesn’t mean the situation has been completed. It can resurface again.

Your perceptions and awarenesses are important. But there’s an even easier way to move towards healing, and that’s to lift yourself, in the Soul, above the field of action, contact the spiritual energy, the Holy Spirit, and, for your highest good, let it flood and radiate down and disintegrate away from you what you no longer need. If you contact this Soul energy, this impulse field of life, and if you just sit and do nothing with it, it starts to move down over you like a shower—in a spiraling, undulating motion. You can sometimes feel a little dizzy as it undulates and moves. It will just pop away any negative thought forms you are holding onto or that are holding onto you.

There is much more that could be said about cause and cure. This is not the final word, but meant to be a carrot out in front of you so that you can explore more for yourself and find the spiritual being that you are. If you get clearer information and knowledge about your situation and yourself, you may, through awareness, through forgiveness, and through the Light, no longer need the experience of the dis-ease. Now that would be a great completion!

To explore the causes and cures of disease in more depth buy Living the Spiritual Principles of Health and Well-Being by New York Times #1 Bestselling author, John-Roger, D.S.S. with Paul Kaye, D.S.S.

If you ask the man or woman on the street if they’d like greater health and well-being, chances are you’d hear a resounding “YES!” Most of us want greater health and well-being and we’re very concerned about why we get sick.
