Thursday is the first full day of Conference. I see so many loved ones, and so many heart to heart hugs. Yes, Conference really is, beyond words. Sitting and looking at the stage backdrop this year, it first appears to be “that old lonesome road”, but smiling in my heart I see how the desert scene reflects Utah, the home state of our own Beloved Wayshower J-R. And instead of looking lonesome, the road reflects the joy. I feel as if we’re all on an express air conditioned bus sitting together with the Travelers John-Roger<\/a> and John Morton<\/a>, even if it is in the grand ballroom of the Sheraton Universal Hotel. It’s a magical mystical tour of higher learning. Hey, remember touring the deserts on PAT IV?<\/p>\n

Today is Peace Theological Seminary<\/a>‘s graduation, and I see Jsu and Michael Hayes escorting J-R to his seat. The Non Nobis song starts to play and the procession begins, led by John Morton and Paul Kaye and the DSS faculty, with all the DSS graduates-to-be marching down the aisle behind them in their doctoral robes to the Sound of Light and Love.<\/p>\n

We hear the magic words in our hearts and ears once again that the “Kingdom of Heaven is present.” Peace is present, and Dr. Paul Kaye takes the stage and introduces PTS as the finest seminary in the world.<\/p>\n

Next, Paul calls in the Light, and leads us in the Ani-Hu chant. Then Paul shares that the founder of PTS, John-Roger, is with us today. Paul also introduces Drs. Mary and Ron Hulnick of the University of Santa Monica.<\/p>\n

Paul then calls forth the Master of Spiritual Science<\/a> graduating class of 2011. Dr. John Morton and Dr. Liz Bixby come to the stage for the graduation ceremony, handing out diplomas and hugs. Paul then introduces and acknowledges the MSS facilitators, asking them to stand.<\/p>\n

Paul then explains that there are 18 Doctoral graduates this year. Paul shares about the Doctor of Spiritual Science<\/a> program, and how the last two years are focused on Advanced Ministerial Studies.<\/p>\n

Dr. Liz Bixby then shares the meaning of the colors on the doctoral hood, with Dr. Pauli Sanderson modeling the gown, hood and tam. Liz explains that the gown has three chevrons on the sleeves to show that the wearer is at the doctoral level. Liz points out that the green color of the hood represents the physical, and the gold represents the spiritual. The scarlet color is for sacred theology, and the blue signifies the degree in philosophy. The gold trim all around is for Spiritual Science. The Tam was chosen because “Paul Kaye really, really likes the tam!”<\/p>\n

Paul then asks the graduates of Peace Theological Seminary’s Doctor of Spiritual Science program to please stand. Each person comes forward as their name is called by Elissa Giges, and they kneel down to receive their doctoral hood. And new this year, the name of each person’s Practical Treatise is announced too, giving us an appreciation for each grad’s journey.<\/p>\n

Paul then introduces the DSS Facilitators, and Paul especially thanks Dr. John Morton for showing up to share with all of the classes for all of these years. Paul then introduces the PTS staff: Jean Zero, Elissa Giges, Toni Schulz, Doreen Dietsche, Sherie Wylie, Maria Jose Maranon, Ann Bruggemann and Julie Lurie. Paul then asks Dr. John Morton to address the graduates and us all.<\/p>\n

John welcomes all the family and friends of the grads. John shares that all of us are doing the very best we can with what we know. Our approach comes from embracing each other, and that presence that loves us, and adores us completely and always understands. God Loves all of It’s creation. John then leads us in a short guided inner process that concluded with a blessing.
