The community planned the event in celebration of this year\u2019s International Day of Peace coming up in September (<a href=\" http:\/\/www.iiwp.org\/events.php\">click here<\/a> for more events you can attend!)<\/p>\n<p>Cristina emailed me the following about the planting:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cMy lady of peace,<br \/>\nI love you Travelers John-Roger and John Morton!!!! Thank you very much for the grace!!!!!!! These pictures are a few from the events. My love and gratitude forever,\u201d<\/em><br \/>\nCristina<\/p>\n<p>The local newspaper covered the event, and here\u2019s a translation of what they wrote:<\/p>\n<p>*****************<tt><\/tt><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pinamar is now integrated to the net of caretakers of peace<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pinamar, Argentina<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, one of our residents, Marta Galucci and a group of neighbors of\u00a0 Pinamar\u00a0 planted a &#8220;Peace Pole&#8221; in the space located at Ave Bunge and Playa (Main city avenue and Oceanside. Present at the event were: The Secretary of State and Security, Juan Jose Rodriguez; Secretary of Tourism, Carlos Bucheli; President of the City Council, Alberto Germain; Cristina Rivero, IIWP Representative who explained the symbolism of the event and invited Pinamar inhabitants to share this message of peace.<\/p>\n<p>Cristina mentioned the commencement of this tradition in 1946 after Nagasaki. Then she explained the principles of IIWP.
