You haven’t yet transformed into the next phase of what you are becoming. And that’s what we specialize in in the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness — progressing through the human condition into the next phase of your development.

Ultimately it’s a spiritual progression. We know that and we claim that, and we go after it in a very direct high-powered way. We’re going after the spiritual state of who we are in as direct and powerful way as we can in whatever ways are permitted for the highest good. And we influence our rate of growth, our rate of progression, by our willingness and openness to grow.

If you want to harmonize and synchronize with the highest rate of growth that’s available to you, there are five laws of Spirit that apply directly — Acceptance, Cooperation, Understanding, Enthusiasm and Empathy. Your rate of spiritual progression may be different from everybody else’s, but your rate is yours. It is perfect for you for your learning and growth as a soul. These five laws of Spirit are also in an alignment, like on a skeleton where the ankle bone is connected to the leg bone, leg bone is connected to the hip bone, etcetera. There’s an organization and order in them. God’s order has perfection, and the progression has perfection.

The work we’re doing in MSIA may take a while, like plowing a field for the harvest. A newly plowed field looks dead, like there’s nothing growing here. But there are seeds in there, and that’s on purpose because the harvesting is yet to become. In your spiritual progression, much like those seeds, you may feel like you’re going into a cocoon-state for a while. It may seem to you like, “Gee, no one’s interested in me. My life’s sort of paralyzed or dead.” But the reality is you’re doing a lot of inner work. So like the field, it’s going to be thriving in a while — in the right season, in the right timing.

If you’re in a situation and you feel, “It’s not comfortable. I’m not relaxed. I’m tense,” or you’re relating to life like, “It’s awkward. It’s a struggle,” that’s your choice. Another choice is for enthusiasm which involves trusting yourself and God within you. There’s nothing bigger than God. When I put myself in relation to God, I’m with God and God is with me. That’s a family relationship that is ongoing. It’s in the blood. God and I are in this together, and there’s no real option without God. I am God’s, and God is mine. And in that family relationship with God there’s an opportunity to grow and expand into it more fully.

A big key to having more compassion for yourself in your learning is to remind yourself, “This situation is a challenge.” Acknowledge to yourself, “I’m not feeling comfortable.” An essential uplifting attitude is, “This situation, as awkward as it is, is for me not against me. I know that through my faith and trust in myself and God.” Through your faith and trust, you can bring yourself into harmony with what is going on.

Often when we feel contracted or withdrawn in a situation, it’s because we’re looking through the small self, the personal self. The way to get to expansion is to realize that the big self would be who you are in God, as if God took the flesh, individualized itself as you, and took your form with all the requisite abilities. The human form has conditions, and in those conditions we find out what our ordinariness is.

John-Roger brought up that ordinariness is the prior condition to God. So when we’re humble about what’s going on, and we’re trusting and accepting, these are qualities of being human. By being compassionate towards yourself, you make it okay personally when you’re feeling withdrawn, contracted or awkward. You don’t put pressure on yourself to be different than you are. By accepting yourself and your rate of spiritual progression, you’re in the correct way of relating to yourself and what’s going on so you can become more fully who you are as the beloved of God.

Baruch Bashan

Question: How can I be more compassionate with myself?
