Ah, that double-espresso hits the spot as we wait for boarding. Then our flight swoops us to Boston and before we know it we’re driving around Waltham — a Spring-touched Boston suburban area, appreciating the gentle touches of green, the full blooming magnolias and budding fuchsia azaleas decorating Revolutionary and Victorian style homes here. After dinner we each settle in for some emails. I wait up for Cleora Daily, my roomie to be. Finally Cleora arrives and we have a late night catch up before surrendering to sleep.

DAY 2

Our girls’ catch up continues through breakfast and then we’re off to Charlie Verge’s peaceful home today for Services. Emily Page is our delightful hostess, and Bruce Rosenfeld and Elizabeth Frumin are there to continue their Services training. The day flies by as we greet old friends and enjoy the surprise of unusually warm weather. After Services we head back to our hotel to have a quiet evening. Tonight Roger is setting up sound recording for a sharing tomorrow. Meanwhile John Morton and Leigh Taylor-Young arrive and settle in. Our Boston travel staff contingent is complete and raring to go. Light ahead!!!

DAY 3 — BOSTON

Cleora and I have a few Services today and it is so beautiful driving through gentle budding trees and pink magnolias, cherry blossoms and dogwoods. It’s also “hot”, the hottest it’s been in Boston since the 1870’s. I just love how a Traveler comes to town and you never know what’s going to happen. After Services we join Roger Wakefield to drive over to Charlie Verge’s office in Newton where the MSS 1 is preparing to have a sharing with John Morton. The classroom overlooks a river with the most gorgeous white flowering tall tree silhouetted against a blue blue sky. As we listen to John share, we have a convergence of the beauty and grace of both the Traveler’s teachings and nature.

There’s a short break and then we come back together this time with the Boston MSIA ministers for a sweet deep Ministers meeting that begins with an ordination. The fellowship shared this evening is so very sweet and strong. We are reminded again of the grace of the lineage that works with us in our ministries.

Then barely in our bodies we drive back to our hotel each to finish the evening gently and lovingly before sleep claims us.

DAY 4 — BOSTON

It’s another beautiful day here and even hotter! Still the heat doesn’t diminish the sweetness of Services. Roger is over at the Newton Marriott setting up the equipment today with Ezra Mack for tonight’s open seminar. Leslie Fabian, the vivacious Boston MSIA Rep, is there to do whatever is needed. Lisa Boone is setting up the festive products table. Our day moves so quickly with a quick pause for lunch provided by Louise (who we thank for the goodies you also brought for us for lunch over the weekend).

Then it’s time for the seminar. Leslie Fabian welcomes the group — larger than we’ve seen for years! Valerie Walsh and Rick Bloesser serenade us with two joy-filled melodious songs. Charlie Verge accompanied by Valerie and by Elizabeth Frumin stir us up with “Someone Walks With You” and then John takes the stage. He weaves the theme of “Walking With You” throughout the evening as he walks with us through some historic times and places, looks at what we do to realize our spiritual nature and what is our spiritual nature. All too soon our seminar journey with John comes to an end on this earthly plane. We wave goodbye to John and enjoy the fellowshipping that goes along with many hands helping to pack up the sound equipment. With many thanks for all the assistance we head back to our hotel for yet another nights sleeping.

DAY 5 — BOSTON

Our last day of Services. After a super lunch complete with butternut squash soup made fresh by Monica Simpson, and with many hugs, we say good-bye and head back to our hotel to pack. Some of us go to downtown Boston to grab a little touch of history. We eat at the harbor and then afterwards walk around Market Place where there’s Fanueil Hall and the State House (that has a balcony from which was read the Declaration of Independence to the people of Boston). It doesn’t take much to see the likes of Samuel Adams and friends striding across the cobblestones amidst carriages and horses on their way to lay the foundation for our United States. Then it’s back to the hotel to finish packing and sleep, for tomorrow we drive to Norwalk. Thank you to all in Boston who reached out in many ways to take care of us and the Traveler! Light ahead to the next part of our Northeast journey.

All righty, Roger Wakefield and I, the first squad out, are up earrrrly this morning to get to the airport for our flight to Boston.
