This seminar starts with a group chant of H-U, one of God’s names from time out of mind.<\/p>\n
John-Roger follows this by offering the purpose of such a chant. “This ancient tone,” he says, “is a way to bring everyone into a ‘like consciousness.’ When we are saying this, in a sense we are encouraging God to be bountiful to us. It’s like a petition saying, ‘Don’t forget me; here I am,’ and the more that a person chants the name of God, then the more it is pulled into their consciousness.”<\/p>\n
“It is an extremely important thing in every truth seeker’s life,” he continues, “that at some point in their existence, they come to realize that the only truth there is is what we call ‘God;’ and that everything else is a form of illusion. The further we get away from the center of God, then the more we are dealing with the Maya, the glamour, karma, illusion. These factors are what we could call, ‘the wheel of eighty-four,’ or ‘reincarnation.’ ”<\/p>\n
J-R brings our attention to the urges, habits and fantasies we learn in this physical world we live in, and he shows us the importance of focusing our attention inwardly instead, because our Inner Master can be found only there. J-R calls this “the only reference point of validity.”<\/p>\n
Now how do you do that? J-R says, “So what we have to do when we are working to overcome these lower levels, is gather our attention up into the third eye, the tenth door; there is where the Inner Master resides, waiting for you. When you come to that point, you’ll become aware that the Mystical Traveler is there with you. ”<\/p>\n
