Next time your spouse or someone else criticizes your mistakes (even though they haven’t corrected theirs), just put your hand on their arm, tell them a gentle ‘shhhhh,’ and show them the job that you just completed for them because you love them. Tell them ‘I know you would have completed this if you had been feeling better, but I knew something was bothering you so I did it for you. Now tell me what’s bothering you and we can work it out together…'”<\/p>\n
He goes on, “Just take a look at your own life, anywhere in it where you\u2019ve had difficulty, and notice that whenever you applied this little bit of loving to the situation\u2014just a little bit\u2014the other person moved. People think that if you give love you\u2019ve surrendered. You have, but you haven\u2019t given up. You\u2019ve given in to them. And do you know you can only do that through the peace process?”<\/p>\n
