This seminar was given by John-Roger on the campus of Harvard University in May 1977.
The date is important because in the seminar, John-Roger accurately describes conditions that have taken place some thirty years later. Using many examples and stories, J-R speaks of human conditions such as the cycles of anger, reaction and resentment that can prevail in families through the generations. He broadens the view of this addictive process to include unconscious habitual human behaviors found in governments and institutions. He shows us how tempting it is to perpetuate these behaviors of the ego and in so doing we continue on the cycle of re-embodiments.
“We say to ourselves, sometimes I get the strongest feeling I’ve done all this before,” he says. “Well, you have.”
What must we do to lift from this status quo? Heal our separation from God and find the immediacy of God living within ourselves. “Find the truth,” says J-R. In this seminar the truth is present revealing the temptations and the answers, by finding the presence of God.”
