This is a seminar in which John-Roger examines the energy of contempt. He looks at it from every angle, using stories and illustrations which you’ll recognize from your own life. Once he is done, you’ll know how to look for this energy inside yourself and others. And in his usual practical way, when he comes to the end of the seminar, J-R will have made clear what you can do about it and why you would bother.
“This contempt is probably the greatest stumbling block to having a relationship with the Traveler Consciousness or God or Spirit or love or whatever term we want to call this,” J-R says. “This contempt places barriers inside the consciousness, and the contemptuous person experiences the holy man’s disease which is, ‘I’m better than you. You’re not in my class. I’m so good, don’t you dare criticize me.” You know people who project that energy, don’t you?
Then J-R looks at the underlying causes for this behavior. “Setting up the ego to look down your nose at other people represents not wanting to accept life as it is. These types of observations deny the empirical consciousness of real spiritual Light….the real Light, not the artificial one.”
And finally, J-R cautions, “There’s no way under the sun that you can rise to God consciousness having any form of contempt. It will block you. For you’re having contempt for God and all things.
And if you have contempt there or in this Light or in that form, then you have contempt for the great God that is all things.”
