In this delightful seminar, John-Roger tells of observing his dogs and cats as they fight, settled their differences, and take naps together afterward. He thinks their behavior is interesting and wonders if it also applies to people, so he visits Prana, the MSIA ashram, and finds the children there showing the same behaviors. J-R suggests to the parents that they monitor to make sure the children don’t get badly hurt but that they refrain from stopping the fights so the children can complete the expression of their anger energies.

Next, J-R says, “I’ve come to the conclusion that God’s probably doing the same thing. He’s just not going to jump in too soon to stop the fighting games we all play: husbands and wives, families, friends…whomever. He lets us work it through so that out of our own nature of love, we can come to the conclusion that we can’t hurt each other anymore. But there is certainly going to be a lot of sandpapering as we come to a greater and greater awareness of who we are. ”

“And at that point,” he continues, “you start getting another lesson about spirituality, and it’s this: I get mine but you’ve gotta get yours too, so I can get mine. But there is also a part in there that is sort of unspoken, a part we’ve talked about in the Movement. Don’t hurt yourself and don’t hurt others. And take care of yourself so you can better take care of others.”

Up to that point in the seminar, the nine magic words haven’t appeared, but you’ll recognize them when J-R speaks them in the seminar. They are for you to use in your life.
