This English/Spanish seminar was given by John-Roger during a trip to Bogota, Colombia. Mindful of the spiritual orientation of most of his audience, J-R introduces one of the principal teachings of MSIA: positive focus.

“Isn’t it amazing how your feelings run you?” he says, as he provides a short lesson in how our mind and emotions work and how we can learn to bring some discipline to them. “You, your body, your mind and your emotions — in there resides the Lord, the Savior of us all. Now, we know why we must keep clean our body, mind and emotions. ”

“In the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness,” he goes on, “we know that we sin. We know we probably always will. We know that we struggle with our desires. Instead of going to some sanctuary to learn to discipline ourselves, we use the world as a sanctuary and there is where we can learn discipline. Not discipline as punishment, but discipline as where you place your focus.” J-R, through stories and examples, gives information about how to achieve and hold
onto positive focus, no matter what life brings along.
