John-Roger begins this way, “Some person asked me a long time ago, ‘Why, do you say it takes great courage to see the face of God?’ And my response is, ‘Because you gotta look at God’s face first and that takes a lot of courage.”

“The reason it takes great courage to see the face of God,” he continues, “is primarily because the greatest struggle we have is with our senses. This struggle is continually going on between that part of you that is Light and Love and Sound, and that part of you that is part of the negative domain. Within our senses, we find the five problems of human consciousness. There can be more, but there are five that I think most of us will recognize.”

J-R then goes on to name and discuss each of the five challenges to our consciousness that can get in the way of who we really are. He names loneliness, despair, dread, anxiety and as he says, “Then of course, the ultimate one which these lead to, and that’s death.
‘What’ll happen to me after I’m dead?’ There, does that cover any challenge you may be dealing with?

After naming each of these stuck places, J-R offers an expansive and uplifting view of ourselves. Here’s one example, regarding loneliness. “In truth, I can’t say that I sit here in this chair alone, because I sit in the center of universes. And you, sitting there in front of me, can’t you see that you’re sitting on that spot yourself. Because your universe, your world, sits in that same spot.” When your inner terrors get you down, this seminar is just the antidote to lift you into God’s heart.
