Everyone has that sense of unworthiness. I don't know if we will ever get rid of it while we're on the planet. I've got mine encoded as a guardian that keeps me going, so I can never sit in complacency and say, "I've got it! This is it! I don't have to do anything else." As soon as I do that this thing kicks me right in the backside and says, "Up one more stair." And I say, "Yeah, but I declared this stair the top!" That's an ego position that's going to cause me disturbance, because the top is the top. It will declare itself.

What is it worth to know your Soul as the guiding force for living your life? It's priceless.

The mind is a tool for this level, and it brings similar experiences to many people. While some people may experience more mental karma than others, the essential action of the mind is the same with each of us. Do you think you're alone in the things you experience? Check with the people around you. You might think, "No way. I'm not going to tell you my inner thoughts; they're weird. Nobody thinks what I think!" Then you talk to your best friend, who says, "You know, sometimes I get these strange thoughts" and then tells you almost exactly what you had been thinking. You think, "Oh Lord, there are two of us!" Then you meet someone else who says, "I've had the strangest thoughts lately." Soon you are forming groups to discuss these shared experiences.

When somebody makes a mistake you say, "Forget it, let's go on." What if they make the same mistake twice? You say, "Hey, watch what you're doing because you're making the same mistake twice. Let me draw your eyes to this mistake. Do you see it? I don't have to tell you anymore, because you can see it. Do you know how to correct it? If you don't, I'll show you how."

In the beginning, I suggested that people do s.e.'s (spiritual exercises) for ten minutes a day. People wouldn't do that, so I said, "Well, do s.e.'s for two hours a day." I figured that within those two hours, a person might get in ten minutes of s.e.'s. The duration of s.e.'s is not the issue. The most important thing is to make the spiritual contact. If you make it in one minute, then it's made. If it takes you two hours, then it takes two hours. Timed s.e.'s is definitely the wrong approach. Essence/quality spiritual exercises is definitely the approach.

Even in the midst of the curse, the blessing appears.

I find that the answers to our questions about the great mysteries of life and death are part of the spiritual promise. There is a spiritual promise that what we seek truly and openly we will find. And probably most of us have heard of the scripture from the Bible that says, "If you seek, you shall find." I consider that part of the spiritual promise -- that if we seek the truth, it is our heritage.

When people stop to listen and the mind becomes quiet, they sometimes will go to sleep out of habit. The better choice is to hold yourself alert and awake and to just listen. Listen for what comes forward out of the silence. Listen past the inner conversations of your mind. If things start to distract and disrupt you, bring your focus back to the silence. As many times as the silence is broken, you can refocus on listening to the silence one more time. When you bring yourself into the silence, you can then experience the knowing and the wisdom that will start flowing. Then people often want to comment mentally on the experience, or they feel a need to write it down. But that in itself becomes a distraction that can shut off the silence.

Just remain neutral. Come in, listen to the teachings, don't believe or disbelieve, just listen. See what works for you, start working it, see what happens. If it's not for you, you'll find out pretty fast.

John-Roger, DSS
Every Soul comes out of God. Each of us has the essence of God within. That is the Soul, an essence of God. There are people who think the Soul is in trouble because they see all the negative levels below Soul. The Soul is not in trouble. Being an essence of God, the Soul cannot destroy itself because God will not destroy Itself. In time, each human being will realize that they are, indeed, the Soul.
