The only thing that changes human behavior is a human being who is not only willing to do it but courageous enough to go for it. What permits someone to move from behaviors of poverty consciousness to those of spiritual abundance and material affluence? Perhaps when someone has had an abundance of failure, when someone has become so sick and tired of being tired and sick, they may go inside and hear the voice of Spirit saying, "Life is not intended as a painful sentence. You can have joy and abundance and know it as yours."

John-Roger, DSS
The best way to deal with shame is to own that it's part of the human condition to have shame. This is because we have a measuring mark of perfection inside (although it's not necessarily accurate), and if we fall short of our internal mark of perfection, we have shame. We want to get away from the mark of perfection and, instead, go for excellence or good. If you don't hit good, you don't have to have failure as the opposite reality. You can go back and rework whatever it is. Or you can come to the reality where you realize that you're not supposed to do it, you're not designed for that, and it's just not for you to do it.

Take a holiday from worrying, doubting and fearing by going nonstop into trusting the Lord. Once you arrive, notice you can take up residence on an ongoing basis.

You don't have to understand something that is already within you; you just have to awaken to your experience of it. Then understanding appears. The sleeper goes for abundance by manifesting illusion out of greed and insecurity. The one who is awakened only has to take in the next breath.

There is a weakness that I call the "tyranny of weakness." This is where someone plays that they are so very weak in order to have everybody running around doing things for them. These types of people are also very unhappy, because they never can rely upon themselves when troubles appear. The tyranny of weakness is the power not to perform. It masquerades as "I'm not strong enough; it's too heavy for me to lift; I'll have to stay too long on my feet," and all sorts of other excuses. For example: "I can't go. I have a headache." Get up and go. "I can't water-ski. I don't know how." You won't learn sitting down. Get up on the skis. "I'll fall." Yes. "I can't swim." Put on a vest. Take a deep breath through it all. "I can't sing." Practice. "Oh, no. No!" Why not? "Because I can't sing." I know, practice. Take lessons and get going. "No. I'm protecting my weakness." And that weakness will be where your illness comes in and your disease lives.

Those of you who work in the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness have the absolute freedom to go where you want, do what you want, believe what you want, test whom you want, and doubt whom you want. It's all right with me. I am going to continually maintain my levels of awareness. And it just so happens that when I maintain mine, the people who are working with me can maintain theirs much more readily.

Success is everyone's heritage. Potentially, we can have success in everything we do. Can all the billions of people on the planet be successful? Yes. Everyone can be successful, each in his or her individual way. If all of us were successful, this place would be heaven on earth. We would be living in the Garden of Eden.

When you are working with the Traveler, all things unfold in their right and proper timing. You can assist by loving yourself every step of the way, by doing your spiritual exercises to gain a greater perspective of what you are experiencing, by loving the people around you and treating them with kindness, and by living with integrity and honesty.

Keep looking at any situation as a test that you can pass with the assistance available to you spiritually and by doing the best you can in response. Deep in your heart and Soul you know this already which is a comfort that helps you to trust and relax. That alone always helps. You are perfectly designed to use each and every condition to lift and be lifted, to learn and grow, and to discover the spiritual gifts that can become more manifest through your expression into the world.

The true self does not really reside here; it resides in Spirit. Spirit is everywhere, but I mean that the true self doesn't reside here in the physical. We find it by going back into our spiritual self. And when you have been in that consciousness, you'll look at this world and say, "It's so beautiful. Everything is right and proper."
