Here are three ways to search through the history of over 5,000 Loving Each Day quotes by John-Roger and John Morton.
We are conditioned to look out in the world for the source of our fulfillment. And when things don't go the way we want, we try to find someone or something to blame. Attempting to control is trying to make life work. But life already works. Placing the blame outside ourselves is a misguided attempt to regain a sense of control. The fact is, we never were in control. We never had any control to lose. We don't have control over anything outside ourselves. Life is always happening according to its rules, not ours. When we move into full cooperation with life, it can appear that we're in control, but in reality, we are simply in a harmonious flow with life.
Not one Soul is going to be lost. In fact, there aren't any lost Souls. The Soul always knows where it is. It just doesn't care. The Soul knows it is going to outlast your body, it knows it's going to outlast the thoughts you've been having, it knows it's going to go beyond the imagination, and your feelings have betrayed you for so long that it pays little attention to them. So why shouldn't it be happy in these lower worlds? Our misidentification causes us to go into the quandary of the mind to second-guess. And yet the Soul says, "I'm here, I'm present. I'm not over there. I'm here, I'm present. This is the moment."
You can offer input, and yet you do not have control. However, God does have control. That realization is an invitation to let go, relax, be patient, and observe, as you witness God once again demonstrating perfection as all things come to greater good.
The practice of being yourself is not drudgery. It's uplifting, it's a pleasure. But the people, places, and things of this world have such a pull that if we don't continually practice, we will be stuck in our false-self ways. The true self is the true God-force within you. It is important to practice placing your attention and your consciousness only with the true self.
From the Soul's point of view, the most important things about being on the physical level are that (1) the Soul is gaining experience here, and (2) this level is a "springboard" into the Soul realm. It is only from the physical level that the Soul can move directly into the Soul realm and above.
I do not want to be able to control what I am going towards. I want to work in such close cooperation with Spirit that it might look and seem that I am in control, but I'm not. But it's also true that in that close cooperation with Spirit, there is so much oneness that perhaps I'd also say that I am in control, because I have now made It and me the same thing. At that point, the Father and I are one. There's no difference. And at that point, what care I of others' opinions or what I am in control of or not, because I am in connection with the energy that is going back into the heart of God.
When you come to the realization, inwardly, that you need to find God, how do you go about that? You find God through yourself. You find God by yourself. People who are following Jesus may say, "Jesus will save you." But who has to make the first step? You have to make that first step toward your own salvation. You have to make the commitment to let Jesus save you. In essence, that is saving yourself. You always have to assume responsibility for yourself. People say that their gurus will save them. But no guru, no teacher, will work with you toward enlightenment unless you let him know that you are interested. So you go to a teacher and tell him that you are interested; you ask him to save you. He may say, "Okay," but he will also say, "Then do these things I ask of you." Jesus said, "Do these things." All teachers say, "Do these things." And they are all pointing out the unity underlying all things. Every one of them will tell you that there are causes and effects and that you are the cause and you are the effect.
You cannot control other people's feelings, attitudes, and emotions relating to you. You can only exert control over yourself. Someone may choose to be your enemy or judge. How you react is your choice.
The Spirit is with you absolutely, 100 percent. It is your ally. It is your friend. It is going to do everything that you need. So call on it, and bring yourself forward to the Spirit.
With gratitude comes appreciation and, most important, loving. If you want to create an opportunity to bring forward your success, loving is the most powerful beam for it to ride in on. When we are more and more loving, we attract loving energy. That loving energy is for our use, not abuse. It's an energy that does not work if we try to hold on to it as ours and not share it. If a person tries to keep loving energy as their own, this is like being a negative alchemist; they can turn a powerful loving force into decay.
