When you realize that what you are doing is not working, move to what is working. How? Awareness. You do not do well when you judge or become upset when you see what is not working. Go to your Soul. And use your awareness of what is not working to find what is working.

Much of your ability to be open to new things, to alter your patterns of behavior, and to grow depends on your attitude toward the situations in which you find yourself. If you can keep a positive attitude, you can learn from any situation. When you continually grow and lift in consciousness and awareness, life can be a beautiful experience. If you hold to a negative attitude, your life will probably be one catastrophe after another, or at least that is the way you will perceive it. When you are in a state of inner discontentment, it gets projected onto the world and you then stage your revolution "out there." Yet it's not changing anything. It's comforting to know that when you change your attitude, you may not have to change anything else in the world around you, because it's all being reflected from your inner environment anyway.

Loving is a matter of giving yourself 100 percent at any moment. If you are married, give 100 percent to the marriage and to your spouse. If you hold back or place conditions on the marriage, and keep part of your loving in reserve, you will never know what that marriage could have been. You will never know where the expression of loving could have led you. If you love 99 percent and do not go the full 100 percent, you will end up in lack. There will be something lacking and you will know it. When you investigate and explore loving 100 percent, there is no unknown area and thus no fear.

Those who know the Light and want to know and experience more are those who receive responsibilities for everyone with whom they come in contact. This is a load that may scare many people away, but the load is just this: when you go out into the world, always ask for the Light to surround and protect you and to move ahead of you for the highest good. And as you do this, remember that the spiritual heart is the center from which you work in your out flowing of love. When people start coming too close to you, place the Light between you and them, and let the Light take the karma. The Light can handle it. All you have to do is maintain your awareness of the Light and place each situation and person you encounter into the Light.

It assists your Soul's growth when you silently send the Light to others.

When you reach the point where you can flow with whatever is happening at any moment, without setting up any expectations, without judging the action, without inflicting your point of view; when you can experience and learn from whatever comes your way; when you can let go and become an instrument of the Light, knowing that every person, every situation, every relationship, and every action is for your highest good and that nothing will ever harm or hurt you -- when you can do and know these things, you will be well on your way to becoming one of the living free, and that will be a great part of your true fulfillment.

The word courage comes from the French coeur, meaning heart. We need great courage (heart) to give. Service is not for the faint of heart. Giving is the easiest, most difficult thing you'll ever do. In order to give, you must be willing to experience rejection and being misunderstood -- not to mention the fear of rejection and the fear of being misunderstood, and the hurt of rejection and the hurt of being misunderstood, and the anger that covers the fear and the anger we turn against ourselves and the anger and sense of worthlessness that sometimes come when our gift is not found worthy. In addition to pain, we must be willing to feel joy. Tolstoy says that, "Joy can be real only if people look upon their life as a service, and have a definite object in life outside themselves and their personal happiness." Generations yet unborn will appreciate what we have done, just as we appreciate what others who are long gone have done. There's no way to return the favor to posterity, but we can pass it on to the future.

Once we come upon that consciousness of who we are, we know the Spirit and the Soul of our being, which radiates and is aware of the God essence. We know our natural course, to live and enjoy life and to constantly grow, so that every experience that comes to us is a nurturing experience at the level of the Soul.

The next time you start to have some emotional reaction, you don't have to give energy to being upset; instead, you can express your loving consideration for the other person. Know that only one thing counts: the loving that is expressed.

One of the fundamental errors that we have as human beings is greed, which is manifested mostly in terms of money or monetary value. Greed, by its very nature, is a striking against the riches within oneself because it appears that there is never enough here in the world. Our eyes are always "hungry." We can help to break the greed pattern by tithing, giving 10 percent of our personal wealth. When we tithe, two levels are activated -- a level here in this world and, at the same time, a mystical, invisible level. The mystical is a communication saying, "You are abundant and handle abundance well, so here's some more." The other level, in this world, is when we look at our abundance and contribute joyfully through tithing. We are actually cheerful about it. This action sets up a countenance that is a form of glory in the human being, and that glory attracts more abundance.
