When you do not see the perfection of the Light action and your path upon this planet, the action of the Light sometimes appears to be happenstance, and that can cause a form of suffering. For instance, one week you may call in the Light and find it really works for you and that everything in your life happens in a beautiful way. A week later you may call in the Light and find that nothing seems to happen the way it should. You say, "It didn't work." You feel the suffering. Did you ever consider that the rough time you seem to be having might be just what you need to help you grow, to help you lift into the next level of awareness? The Light always works for your highest good, though it may not be apparent to you what your highest good is.

Each person must choose for himself or herself. There is no need to try to influence someone one way or another, but you can be honest and present different options and points of view. You can describe the possible results of various actions. You can lay out four or five choices. Then, whatever the person chooses will be all right with you because your emotions and ego won't be involved. If you present only one choice, you'll usually find that your emotions and ego become involved, and you may try to control the person's decision. Then if the person decides against your recommendation, you could feel hurt, upset, and confused. When people feel this type of control from you, they will fight back. They'll say, "I love you, but let me breathe my own air." They may feel suffocated in many ways. When you can look at a person and say, "I love you; do as you please," that person can say, "That's right! I'm free. I don't have to prove it to anybody. I love you, too, and you can do what you want to do." In that freedom, you may decide to go on together.

You can keep your consciousness anchored, in the midst of upset or disturbance, and say, "This is good. I like this no matter what I am feeling."

John Morton, DSS
How we grow, or how we resist growth, is up to us. Time goes on regardless of our level of cooperation. Time, otherwise known as life, has a way of bringing forward the lessons we have to learn. Whether we learn things the hard way or the easy way is up to each of us. So is the length of time we take to learn.

John-Roger, DSS
Don't look for God and Spirit outside yourself; just awaken to the presence inside. Know that God reigns personally inside you as you, and the Beloved is present. We are one in God's loving heart, and there is truly only one Beloved: the God-form. You are part of it. Everyone is.

Ask for the Light, and then keep your eyes open to see what the Light shines on for your immediate level of concern.

Do the next thing in front of you to do, and do it lovingly. Pray to be guided by God and to be aware of that guidance, and then live your life as lovingly as you can.

Be loyal to your next breath. That type of loyalty will lead you to seeing the face of God.

Coupled with spiritual exercises, being of service is one of the greatest forms of demonstrating the inner consciousness out here in the world. Not as a do-gooder, or one who wants acknowledgement for the service. Get your recognition in the Spirit. Because as soon as you get it physically here, you've gotten what you're going to get out of the action. You've gotten the praise of humans, and that's not counted toward righteousness.

Q: I feel stuck in my life. Do you have any suggestions for me? A: Are you being of service? Are you, as a human being, volunteering your time to organizations that are structured toward upliftment and toward the unity of Spirit in mankind, as a loving, caring approach to existence? If you say, "Well, my work is that," I'm telling you no, that is not the same. That is being paid for what you do. I'm talking about serving as a no-payment approach, like breathing. When you breathe in, you don't get a reward for that because the breath is the reward. As soon as you breathe, your reward is instantaneous. Serving does that same thing, You don't serve for acknowledgement or respect. You serve for the immediate payment of serving. This is extremely important.
