Go to the Father and do your best praying, which is not the same as worrying or pleading.

John Morton, DSS
Many people resist going for the abundance of success, actually doing and saying things to limit themselves. Some do it because they're afraid of failure. I see people behave on the basis of, "I don't want success because I'm afraid I may fail and fall. I'd rather stay here in my limitations because, at least, I'm familiar with them." That's like a person staying in a discordant relationship with someone, arguing and fighting, but staying in it because, at least, they feel that they know the rules. But there are other choices than to go into the boxing rings of life. Rather than take comfort in any familiar limitations, why not take a wild chance and actually choose to change?

John-Roger, DSS
If you want to leave this planet and if you want to truly see God, you must see God in the Spirit, not in the flesh, because it's not done in the flesh. Only by reflection do we see things in the flesh, and only by Spirit do we see things directly. And every time we see anything through the flesh, we are heirs to the errors of the flesh. But if we can, during spiritual exercises, hold with the presence of the Divine, we would realize that it is the flesh that shakes, the mind that shakes, the emotions that shake, and the unconscious that shakes. The part that is pure and steady and knows - that's You.

In the Western world, we tend to think that great spiritual events occurred in the past and are not part of present-day reality. And even if they could occur today, we doubt they could occur to ordinary people. But what if this is not true? What if each person - right here, right now, right today - is a divine being? What if the Soul that resides deep within each person can awaken and realize itself and its own nature? What if the abilities of the Christ and Buddha and Mohammed and other great masters are not just myths and stories but tell of a greater reality that is as available today as it was in ancient times? What if the reality of God is the same today as ever?

John-Roger, DSS
Those of you who know of the love within and are so filled with it can give of this love so that others may awaken to it. In this way, humankind might become more tender and loving.

John-Roger, DSS
Two actions are part of charity: an inner action and an outer action. The inner action is one of balance and the flow of love within. It is awfully hard to give when you are in a state of remorse, resentment, or anger. The only way you can truly give is when you are in a state of joy, creativity, and inner abundance. That state only comes about when you are exercising your spiritual gifts, your gifts of loving. When you breathe that divine love in, you feel the currents of God within your own beingness, and you feel the joy and bliss of the Soul.

You are not in a position to control. And your attempts to gain control or realize your expectations (hopes) can be experienced as stressful. Focus on the clearest state possible while you also focus on the loving and tranquility that is present. Find something that consciously breaks the energy of the situation for you, which could be something as engaging as a good movie, music, the sky, the snowdrift, the rustling leaves, or the words that take your awareness to a neutral place in which observation is in abundance.

John Morton, DSS
When you do spiritual exercises, you are beginning to deal with the Soul, another level of consciousness beyond the mind, body, emotions, and unconscious. We define the Soul as a dynamic, creative unit of energy, alive in the truest sense of the word. It is a part of every person. It never dies, always exists, always is. One aspect of doing spiritual exercises is becoming aware that you are a Soul, you are divine, and that as a Soul you are an extension of God. The Soul is a Divine spark, your ever-present connection to God. The other levels of consciousness - your body, mind, emotions, unconscious, etc. - are not your true essence. They are vehicles for experiencing and learning.

You reach into Spirit by building the strength of Spirit through spiritual exercises. And the only way you can have the experience, the transcendental knowledge, is to have a spiritual transport that can move you from this physical level into the spiritual realms. This spiritual transport has three parts: the first is love, the second is devotion, and the third is the Mystical Traveler. You travel by way of the Sound Current, the supreme energy force, which is also known as the Holy Spirit, the Unstruck Melodies of Spirit, or God’s Unspoken Voice. You ride the Sound Current back through the formlessness into the heart of God. When you’re doing spiritual exercises, you hear the Sound and follow it, but if you don’t also have the Light, you may stumble and fall. So you bring in the Light to see better. You also need love because that is the motivation to keep going. So you need the Light and Sound and love.

John-Roger, DSS
If you do judge, forgive as soon as possible. Forgive yourself for everything from here to eternity, and along with this goes an observable change in behavior. That is one of the ways that we can see that learning has taken place.
