I live by the idea that each of us is doing our personal best at any given moment. You may find that hard to believe, but I really believe that we are all doing the best we can with what we've got. Now, sometimes the "very best" I'm doing isn't too hot, but it's still the best I can do at that moment.

If we utilize the ego correctly, we can have it function for us, being aware that as soon as we give our power over to it, it can destroy us. It will destroy us by making us believe we are the ego. It will turn us away from our greater awareness of who we truly are -- the Soul.

Salvation means many things to many people, and perhaps it is most easily seen as re-membering ourselves into the body of Christ; that is, we know ourselves as truly a member of the body of Christ. We remember the truth about ourselves -- that each of us is a Soul in a physical body, getting experiences through that physical body. We also remember and live in the consciousness of the Soul.

But if you do get up one more time than you fall, if you do correct yourself one more time than you make a mistake, success is waiting for you.

This world is a classroom in which we demonstrate our learning by making correct choices, and when we don't, we are brought the lessons and information necessary for our greater learning. This constant learning process is all part of God's perfection.

You will want to work the spiritual process past the mind's resistance. As you discipline yourself in trust, the mind will eventually have no choice but to step aside and let the higher forces rule.

Know that nothing will be given to you that you really can't handle -- that God is the one who's really running all the mechanisms, and out of God comes all things. There's a great security in that. It's like, "Hey, even my insecurities come out of God. How neat. What am I to learn from this?" That security isn't on this level, only in God. You move to it and you say, "Thanks for the lesson."

You've heard the old saying about the person who was a success because while everyone else was asleep, they were working away in the night. A little Soul travel goes a long way. This is the inner path.

It's so easy to withdraw, to separate, and somehow to declare that as righteous. But that's a crime against yourself. I often tell people, "Don't be mean to yourself," and they wonder what on earth I'm talking about. I'm talking about you withholding yourself from yourself. That's being mean. Have no reasons that you can use to withhold your loving from yourself, no matter what. And that really means "no matter what."
