No one who has experienced Baraka, the divine essence, and maintained a consciousness that is open to the flow of Baraka will feel the negativity of this planet to any great extent. As long as you’re open, letting the love flow and directing your Light out, you are receiving and giving of Baraka, the Holy Spirit, the Light and Sound. You are an instrument of Light. The Spirit uses you to bring Light into this physical realm, and it radiates from you to all others on this level.
You receive Baraka, and you, in turn, extend Baraka to all you meet. You lift others by your presence and by your Light. No matter what they say or do, no matter what happens, you still function as a channel for the Spirit. John-Roger, DSS
Why This Course?
Step inside the living mystery of the spiritual heart with Paths of the Heart: Kabbalah and Sufi Mysticism, an immersive nine-week journey into the wisdom traditions that have shaped spiritual seekers for centuries. This course opens the threshold between two luminous worlds – Kabbalah and Sufi philosophy—exploring how the science of the heart leads to a direct experience of Spirit and ongoing transformation.
We will explore the Kabbalah’s Shekinah and the Sufi’s Baraka. Shekinhah grounds the Kabbalistic side of the journey as a lived experience rather than just a word or concept. Shekinhah is the indwelling Presence, the feminine radiance of the Divine, the quiet glow that settles when we make space for holiness. The Tree of Life comes alive moving from a diagram into a dwelling place; an encounter with the nearness of God, and the way Presence rests as loving, luminosity, and a call to wholeness.
Baraka is the blessing-force, the grace-current that flows through saints, guides, moments, and places. It embodies the Sufi sense of transmission, intimacy, and the heart’s awakening through touch, gaze, remembrance, and surrender. It becomes a lived circulation of grace that can be tasted, felt, and invited.
Together, these two currents form a bridge: Shekinah as the indwelling Light, Baraka as the flowing Blessing. One descends into us and the other moves through us. Their meeting point is exactly where this class is headed – into the spiritual heart as a sanctuary and conduit.
Each session traces a path from the classic maps of inner development—Kabbalah’s Tree of Life and Sufi’s subtle centers—toward the ultimate mystery. We will merge these teachings with that of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness by way of Hasidic stories, Sufi poetry, and guided contemplative exercises. Participants will gain insight and experience into what the mystics have taught through the ages – mystical union; communion with the Beloved.
The class provides a welcoming space for both experienced practitioners and those newly drawn to the mystical way. Throughout, gentle integration of Christian and Eastern perspectives will highlight the heart’s universal language, revealing echoes of abiding communion and bhakti devotion. By the end of this course, each participant will possess practical skills, inner maps, and a shared experience to anchor an ongoing transformation and a deeper living from the heart.
Join a dedicated and loving community in an atmosphere of safety, depth, receptivity, and celebration, where we will weave together ancient wisdom with contemporary practice. Let’s allow the divine Light of our heart wisdom to illuminate our path, offering healing, clarity, and the joy of walking together in Oneness in the blessing and energy of Baraka.
