In Peace Awareness: A Way of Tea, Paul Kaye is inviting you to join him in a tea gathering where Paul will be serving a special tea (and a healthy sweet treat) each week, Gongfu Style. Limited to six people, you will guided to a place of inner calm, allowing your heart to open as you connect with space, silence, stillness and our breath.
The alchemy of a tea gathering has a seemingly mystical ability to bring us to places of beauty within our being. Beauty softens our hearts and we become more attentive to the voice of our true Self. The word beauty and the word beatify, to bless, share the same origin. We will be creating space for the blessings that already are to enter and manifest in our lives.
We will also have time to chat and share. It is said that when people gather for tea, good things happen. So please join us to experience pronoia. (Pronoia is a neologism coined to describe a state of mind that is the opposite of paranoia. Whereas a person suffering from paranoia feels that persons or entities are conspiring against them, a person experiencing pronoia feels that the world around them conspires to do them good).
What is gongfu style tea? The Chinese way of making tea is referred to as gongfu, meaning something that requires great skill and discipline. The gongfu style of tea is an ancient way of making, serving, and appreciating tea that started over 1,000 years ago, and still thrives today.
Will other teas be served? Yes, from time to time, Paul will also feature Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese and Himalayan teas, served in the style of those countries. Stay tuned for a weekly update on what tea is being served.
Will you be serving tea without caffeine? Paul will also be offering organic chrysanthemum tisane. While strictly speaking chrysanthemum is not a āteaā, it is a healthy and delicious alternative to those who cannot drink caffeine.
Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the earth revolves āslowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future. Live the actual moment. Only this moment is life. Thich Nhat Hanh
