This seminar is a study of the 23rd Psalm, J-R style. In John-Roger’s words: Bible: “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.”
J-R: The Lord is the shepherd of my life. Any good thing shall be given unto me (not what I think is good). When we get high enough, we see that little events in life are like a speck on a speck on a policeman’s uniform because of the great cosmic Father that’s in all of us.
The spiritual meaning of Homer's Odyssey centers on nostos (homecoming), representing the Soul's journey back to its true, divine nature through inner transformation, trial, and disillusionment. It is an allegory of the human spirit navigating the chaotic sea of existence to reach inner fulfillment (Ithaca) and unity with the divine, guided by wisdom (Athena). In other words, it is a story for our times!
