John Morton’s Live Seminar at Prana: Loving God is the Way of the Masters

A rose by any other name still smells as sweet. And on Tuesday night, February 24th, the sweetness of loving filled the air as John Morton gave an enchanting live seminar. With 60 plus people in physical attendance and over 450 watching online, many witnessed something never before seen.

For the first time, the night was sponsored by the millennials, a group of MSIA students in their twenties and thirties who on Tuesday nights come together at Prana to offer a recorded seminar or night of sacred chanting to anyone who might come for the party. Millennials took starring roles at John’s live seminar. Matthew VanFossan (that’s me) and David Whitaker hosted the evening with grace and good humor. LeAnna Sharp offered a spellbinding original piece of music called “Loving God.” Eric Lumiere accompanied by his mother Denise sang a rousing rendition of Elton John’s “Love Song,” requested specifically by John Morton. Beth Hinman, though not a millennial by demographic, brought her timeless spirit to the group with her poem entitled, “Tell Me All Your News of Love.”

But of course, the Traveler’s sharing about how the Masters (we masters) love God, was the highlight of it all. John talked about love as an open door. He pointed out that volunteers and staff of all decades contribute to a host of opportunities in MSIA. And, accompanied by the enigmatic Michael Hayes, he answered questions and guided listeners into greater expansion.
