John-Roger says in this seminar, “A person asked me, ‘What is freedom?,’ and I said, ‘Well to me, freedom is to have joy and have it more abundantly.’ And they said, ‘Is that freedom?’ And I said, ‘Yeah.’ And they said, ‘What’s liberation?’ I said, ‘The ability to choose what I want and follow it to the end.’ And those are different.’ ”
J-R continues this way, “If you say, ‘Well, would you rather have happy or liberation? My answer is liberation, because in there I’ve already got happy locked in. So, what’s the issue? None!”
He goes on, “Sometimes I’ve just put myself in one of these old barber chairs, where the barber would shave you or cut your hair. And I’d just start to turn around very slowly in that chair, just looking. And I think to myself, ”Well, gee, I started looking out here and out that direction…. And I finally saw out as big as the room in which the chair was and by then, I put what I saw in my imagination,’ …. and came to a God-almighty conclusion. ‘It’ was not out there. And so I turned and did the same thing looking in…. and ran into it. I thought, ‘I am in here looking out there.’
“Whoever sits at that point of liberation,” J-R says, “has gotta’ be sitting at the pinnacle of what all things are. And by definition, I just say I will find God at the point of liberation.”
