Even when we enter upon a spiritual path, and we know it’s a spiritual path,” John-Roger begins, “something inside of us says, maybe I’m going wrong. And you’ll receive manifestation after manifestation and something inside of you says well maybe that’s not it. Humans are real peculiar.”
Even when we have an authentic experience of Spirit or of our own being, we can doubt and question and invalidate it. “How in heaven’s name do we get into the Soul to find out what the Soul’s got in mind so we can do that?” he asks. “Because here on this physical level of consciousness where we are right now for the most part, we say, ‘I sometimes get so tired of walking in faith. I mean it’s really beautiful and all that but gee, I’d like to have a little more knowledge. I’d like to know for a change.’ ”
In this seminar, J-R offers poetry, personal stories and examples to show us how we undermine ourselves and stop ourselves in our tracks. And the good news is that, as always, J-R shows us the way to get out of such a stuck place. ‘You have to move your consciousness from the level of indecision to the level of doing,” J-R continues, “even if it is just getting up and doing the dishes or making the bed or writing the check and getting that bill in the mail. The Light action is when we do that. It becomes accomplished.”
