In this touching seminar, John-Roger tells of conversations he had with his Dad prior to that wise, exceptional man's passing. From these personal memories, J-R goes on to liken our spiritual development to an actual birth of sorts. “The greatest mystery that we are going to set in in motion -- to birth -- is going to be that of our own divine knowledge: the Christ, the cosmic awareness.” And he reminds us that, likewise, we can give birth to independent thinking or to an attribute like forgiveness.
As in natural physical birth though, J-R warns us that there may be some discomfort involved. “Be careful," he says, "it seems like birthing has to have some hurt and agony, or suffering. It seems that in every phase of our planet, when something is coming new -- whether it is a seed bursting out of the ground, a butterfly coming out of its cocoon, a loved one dying or a new human being born -- there’s a ripping, and a tearing, and a breaking, and a suffering, a stressing, and a struggling.” But let us truly celebrate what comes after all that: a new awakening into loving.
