6/16/2026 Update Re: MSIA – Love, Light, & Sound App
Dear MSIA Student,
We’re excited to share that the MSIA app is receiving some meaningful updates — and you may notice a few changes the next time you open it.
A Fresh Look on the Home Screen
You may notice that the app’s home screen has a new look. The background behind your Loving Each Day quote has been refreshed — a soft, luminous scene with the gentle silhouette of nature moving in the background. Beyond the beauty of it, this was a deliberate improvement in readability. If you’ve ever found the daily quote difficult to read, that should now be a thing of the past.
A More Refined Experience in That Which Is
Much of what we’ve been working on is about visual harmony — bringing TWI within the MSIA app into alignment with the new web version you may already be familiar with. You’ll notice cleaner navigation throughout, smoother playback, and clearer media labels that make it easier to understand how each piece of content is intended to be used. You’ll also notice a new indicator at the top right of your TWI landing page — your first initial when you’re logged in, or a login link if you’re not. It’s a small touch, but it means you’ll always know at a glance where you stand before diving into your content. These changes are quiet but intentional, designed to create a cleaner, lighter experience and help you navigate through J-R’s and John’s materials with less friction and more flow.

A Few Things That Look a Little Different
As part of this update, some familiar elements will have a new look or a new location. We want to make sure these feel like welcome changes rather than surprises:
- Language selection (English/Spanish) — To switch between English and Spanish, open the main TWI navigation MENU and the top menu item (English/Spanish Selection) allows you to select your preferred language. To access other languages (Portuguese, French, Bulgarian), select “Other Languages” on the next line of the menu.

- Adding content to a playlist — The icon for saving a selection to a playlist is changing from a + symbol to a bookmark icon. Same function, new look.
- Auto play & Repeat toggles — These settings are moving. Rather than appearing beneath the video, you’ll now find them by tapping the gear icon to the top right. It’s the same control you’re used to — just tucked into a cleaner settings space.

- “Up Next” is now “Recommended,” and descriptions have moved — Beneath your currently playing content, you’ll now see two tabs, “Recommended” and “Info”, where you may have previously seen “Up Next” or a playlist name. It serves a similar purpose, surfacing content to continue your experience. You’ll also notice that the description is no longer displayed by default — to read it, simply select the “Info” tab.

Make Sure You’re Ready
To experience these updates, make sure your MSIA app is up to date. If your device is not set to update apps automatically, head to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and update the MSIA app manually. Enabling auto-updates is a great way to make sure you always have the latest version without having to think about it.
If you experience issues with TWI on the MSIA app, we have a dedicated page for reporting all app-related issues at https://www.msia.org/report-problems-using-msia-app
