The most fundamental approach to breaking any cycle is to come back to the consciousness of Self - to thine own Self be true. When we find Self we no longer have need or attachment for any other thing. That doesn't mean we can't respond and enjoy other things, but we're not on a need level where we die emotionally if we don't have it. When we die emotionally, we shut off the energy flow. When energy shuts off, disease appears and it corrupts, then it decays and death is a byproduct of that. That kind of death is really hard. Yet the death of old patterns can bring new awareness, and being born again into a new state of awareness can be a transition point to enlightenment.

Love is founded in unconditional regard for yourself and others. Look past your thoughts and feelings to find what is true in your heart. You can love anything and anyone. Whether you live and walk and sleep with them can be another story entirely.

John Morton, DSS
When kids feel they are not getting the love and attention to which they're entitled, they may go to all sorts of extremes to get what they want. One way is a temper tantrum. A way to stop children from throwing a tantrum is to get down on the floor with them and do it as loud or louder. They'll see what they look like and it will sort of embarrass them. If they realize you're doing it because they're doing it, they'll stay out of that area. This technique can bring results in other areas, too.

John-Roger, DSS
Love is perhaps the greatest single hallmark of the Soul. The Soul - that spark of the divine within each of us - reflects God's perfect love. In deciding that my world must have love in it, I was choosing my Soul. I was choosing God and Spirit. I was making a choice to return "home" and claim my spiritual heritage.

John-Roger, DSS
As you give, it is returned to you on this level and on other levels. Don't be too concerned about this level. It has many illusions; things here are not permanent. They fall apart, decay, and change. Place your concern and your values in the spiritual realms.

John-Roger, DSS
If anything surfaces at any time from now on within you that is of an unloving nature, you can immediately give it up to the purple energy of the Mystical Traveler. Whatever you give up is transmuted and replaced with pure, unconditional loving energy.

John-Roger, DSS
The power of Spirit promotes and perpetuates total honesty in your consciousness. It is no respecter of your dishonesty.

John-Roger, DSS
You're going to be another day older whether you do anything today or not. So this day, why not just say, "I love you whether or not you love me." That's the beginning of self-mastery. You'll have the freedom inside of you to say, "I love you when you're here. I love you when you're not here. If I never see you again, I'll still love you. If you go, I'll miss you, but that's the part of me that's conditioned to miss. I'll get over it because I'm going to go on loving."

The Spirit we work with is entirely free of any confinement, illusion, or misunderstanding and full of freedom to love and live in the truth.

John Morton, DSS
In time, I learned that when I saw the positive qualities of loving, joy, peace, and compassion in myself or others, I was seeing aspects of the Soul by reflection. The Soul is not separate from, unusual, or strange to our physical reality. It is really not extraordinary. I believe we all experience our Souls from time to time. I am sure that you have also experienced your Soul, though you may not have identified it as such. When things in the world around you are harmonious, when you are happy and peaceful and when there is love in your life, it is relatively easy to catch the sense of your Soul. It is natural that when the concerns and confusions of the world are at their least, your awareness of Soul may be at its greatest.
