Question: How can I be sure I'm not creating negativity or imbalance for myself in relationships? J-R: There are a few criteria. One is, don't go into guilt. Do you know why guilt hurts people? It is the most intimate, personal, emotional response you can have that you can't really share with anyone else. You can tell people about your guilty feelings, but that's telling, not sharing. Guilt is your own homemade product. If you feel guilty, you have ingeniously set up a tribunal of judges within you. Depending on your cultural or religious background, you could use the Bible, Koran, Kabala, Bhagavad Gita, or maybe even a saying on a building "To Thine Own Self Be True." Whatever it is, you have used an outer source as your reference point for how you should behave. If you don't behave according to that, you judge yourself and then create and eat of the guilt. That is not to say that any outer source is wrong for you. It's not the source itself; it's what you do with it. Anything or anyone may offer wisdom -- in words, signs, symbols, and experience. To bow down to writing on a wall or in a book can be ineffective, to say the least. To worship the writings in your own heart and manifest the heart's action in your life is to live in the true power. If you are going to do something, instead of feeling guilty, you may as well enjoy it. If you are not going to enjoy it, don't do it.

The blessings that already are can be reflected outside of you. The connection between the inner and the outer blessings is loving.

It is only when both man and woman are spiritually whole that they are able to live in joy and genuinely sustain each other. Only when each member of the relationship takes responsibility for his or her own relationship with God can they find the true relationship that God intends men and women to have.

The Mystical Traveler does not leave you, no matter what you do physically. The presence of that force within you is the main value of the teachings. The words can be found in many places and are spoken by many. However, when you connect to the presence of Spirit inside you, the teachings are given to you inwardly and become an aspect of your experience.

When you're living in the now, you can accomplish much more than when you try to live in the past or the future.

Question: You speak about keeping the physical, emotional and mental levels balanced. But you also say that what we do on this level does not affect the Mystical Traveler. Can you explain this? J-R: As long as you want the Mystical Traveler to work with you, it will continue to work with you. If your emotions are out of balance, your mind is scattered or your physical body full of disease, the Traveler Consciousness will work with you to awaken you to your divine heritage. But you would be further ahead if you took full advantage of being in this physical body by taking care of it, nurturing it and loving it. And you may want to discipline your mind so your thoughts are directed toward God. And if you keep your emotions balanced, you can feel good about all those other things. Why not have the best of all things possible while you are here? The Mystical Traveler's work with you is in the Soul and that is independent of your physical, emotional or mental activities.

Everyone has the capacity to know what is working by the wisdom that comes through experience. You will know what is working by the presence of the Spirit. The presence of Spirit comes by way of loving, joy, laughter, peace, and the ease by which you can accept and cooperate with your movement of spiritual inner awareness moment to moment. Right now, for example.

John Morton, DSS
The Spiritual Warrior recognizes that each Soul has within itself all the elements of completeness. No other person can give us the perfect wholeness that comes from God. How difficult it is to accept this fact! We so easily make ourselves emotionally and even spiritually dependent on other people, including (and especially) those we love the most.

John-Roger, DSS
When people are born on this planet, they come in with certain traits and abilities, and they have agreed to complete certain actions. Karma means action; it means a direction, a path that a person is going to fulfill.

John-Roger, DSS
Wisdom is using those things that work for you, for as long as they work for you, and letting go of the things that are not working for you.
