Never forget that you are more than what you do. You are more than anything you teach. You are more than anything you say. You are more than anything you could ever express. Always keep in mind that the highest good will prevail and that your main job is simply to cooperate with it. It's ironic, but the key to being truly in control is to cooperate.

In our process of dealing with the world, we play two sides. One side we could refer to as the negative, the painful, or the disturbing. The other side would be the loving, the light, and the beautiful. As we learn to play this game between two sides, we realize that one is more of our nature, or sometimes it's more of the way we would like to be. In other words, we can look upon ourselves as actually being unloving, or dark, or deep down inside, I'm no good. We can still realize, however, that underneath our negative picture of ourselves is the desire to be good. Choosing the good can be done regardless of what the world is dealing out.

Trust the Spirit in all of its ways which are never less than the highest good of all concerned.

Asking for the Light is a very effective and practical tool for letting go of your worries and concerns. It is a way of becoming present with the spiritual force of God. Here is a Light prayer that you can say at the beginning of the day, or whenever you feel you need more clarity or assistance in your life. Start by sitting quietly and spending a few seconds relaxing with your breathing. Allow your mind and body to come to rest. Now, silently repeat the following words (or your own variation on them): "Dear God, I ask just now for the Light of God, the highest, purest Light, to be with me now, to surround me, to fill me, to fill this room or this space for the highest good. I ask that the Light go ahead of me this day so that I may grow inside and let go of anything that is no longer working for me. I ask that my heart be opened to loving. I ask that the Light be sent to my loved ones for the highest good." If there are individuals you wish to place in the Light, you can silently say their names. If you are struggling with a particular problem, you can place that situation in the Light. Once you have placed a problem or concern in the Light, you can let it go, knowing that the Light is with it and that it is out of your hands. (If the situation later comes back to distract you, you can again place it in the Light.) When you have finished placing people and situations in the Light, you can end your prayer with the following words: "I ask all of this in love, and I give my thanks."

As you attune to the Light, if you repeat silently, "I ask for the Light for the highest good," this will provide a form of support or protection for you. If you have situations or people you are concerned about, you can place them in the Light, and then let go, confident that the Light is with them. As you release problems into the Light, you may actually feel them lift from you, leaving you freer inside. But just as in the practice of prayer, when you are using the Light, it is always best that your intention be for the highest good.
